In my mind ther is a constant question I have for many other groups out there which is; just because one person may have one condition and another person have the other, or a combination..... does this mean that the first can't help the other??? I believe it is time that we all get together, join our support and strength, and do this together. How strong we can be if we just break down these silly barriers that stand between us, my friends!!!
I have been told from previous "advocates" that we can't do this, that I am dreaming or wishing for something that either wont happen or will only draw very few people.
Your darn right I am Dreaming, and Dreaming Big!! (Thank you Bevie... Bless you!!)
And you know, if we do only have a few show.........So What??? This gives us a bigger goal for the next year!!!! So much negativity from such people with great potential. Every day we have to face pain, fatigue..but we still face it, we lift up and move on!!! This is the same thing, lift yourselves up, let us join together and become a stronger chain, for all who need us.
Knowing Very Well the pain we can have from traveling back and forth to our doctors and our homes, I know this trip will be difficult for most of us. However, we must start having our voices be heard.

Update:Most of you know the heartbreaking decision that had to be made about the walk this year (2002)! Due to uncertain weather, construction on and around the Capitol, and the fact that we had to make this decision with-in a certain time (or lose over a thousand dollars on busses), we still had over 120 people at the conference. For all of you that stuck by us, who took the time to think about all circumstances, instead of themselves alone, I thank you! and I Tip My Hat To You!!!What a wonderful way to start showing people that we can indeed work together to get things done!!!
~~~~~BRAVO~~~~~to the guests of the first annual Walk For Awareness!!
There are just a few people who I would like to thank, for all they have done so far!! Their unselfish help and loyalty have gone above and beyond their personal friendships with me, they have been more help than words can say. I am sure there will be more also, we chronic condition people have a way about us! They also now the vital importance of working together in order to help get goals achieved, for you!!
Never forget, these nonprofits Work For You!!!!! And for the most part, most of them have not forgotten this!
((( DI ))): Who is creating the most beautiful ribbons for us all to wear, both for FMS (pink and chrimson) and CFS-CFIDS (a beautiful blue)!! This is a very painstaking job, Thank You ((( DI )))!!!
(((DI))): We Lost Diane Last Year (2001)!!! Be Certain Her Ribbions Will Be Worn With Even More Pride. Rest In Peace Our Dear Friend And Sister!!
(((Rain S. Cook))): Who is not only helping me with personal details of this event, in order to help serve you better, she is also very knowledgeable on what I can do or call to get this AWESOME event done. She has given freely of her precious time to give me that one thing I forgot, or didn't think about. Thank You ((( RAIN )))!!!
(((Terry La Clair ))): Who has offered to make the banner, for our "Walk for Awareness!!" Not a small task, for it will be of quality material, and each letter sewn on. Thank You
(((Melanie Woodruff): Who has started and continues the "OUR VOICES" list of names and stories of people, our stories. She will be presenting these stories to Congress, durring the "Walk for Awareness," and "Out-Door Meeting," in Washington DC. For her help and all she has done for this corporation.
Thank You, (((Melanie)))
Not only have they graciously asked me if they could help with the brochures for Washington DC, they created beautiful and informative brochures. And to top it off they have paid for them!! Thank will never be enough, for it is not just the money and hard work they have put aside for us, they did this out of the kindness of their hearts. THEY are but one perfect example of different corporations and organizations working together to help you all!
(((Lee Ann & Bob)))
(((((Sabrina Johnson))))) Founder and CEO of FACES a nonprofit out of Chicago. A disabled police officer who has helped me understand the workings and some of the stratagies of a nonprofit that I was uncertain of. Another example of an organization working together, but most of all a valued lady I am proud to call my friend and sister!!
(((((SABBY)))))
(((((Anne-Marie Vidal))))) A woman who is always ready with information to help another person. A wrighter and researcher without whom we could not have accomplished the goal of our First Walk For Awareness. I was blessed to have her in my life as long as I did. She continues to write and send out information to all who need it, a true advocate. Thank You,
