James Sunderland: The main character of the game. James gets a letter from his wife, saying she is waiting in Silent Hill. But, his wife is dead. Nevertheless, he goes and tries to find out who sent him the letter, since the dead don't write letters.
Mary Sunderland: James' late wife, who died in Silent Hill, but that doesnt stop her from sending him a letter. (joke)
Maria: This woman runs into James at Rosewater Park, and appeares to work in a strip club. Of course, she has the keys to the local strip joint in Silent Hill. She looks a lot like Mary, except different hair and taste in clothes.
Eddie: This is your typical fat nutcase that you see in games. Eddie lives in the Silent Hill apartments. Why hasn't he left?
Angela: She is wondering around Silent Hill in search of her mother. Watch her closely.
Laura: She is a eight year old kid that you find wandering around the city, unharrmed. She knew Mary very deeply. Maybe she knows what happend to her....
