Nugget #7: Background Passage:
Exodus 3-4     Focal Passage: Exodus 4

As you read this nugget as well as
Nugget #6, notice a central theme? IT'S  NOT ABOUT YOU!
1 Corinthians 6 puts it like this: 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. Too often we focus on the wrong thing; we look at ourselves and our own strengths/weaknesses, when we should look solely to God and his power. NONE of us are anything without God! None of us, in our own power, can do the things God has ordained for us to do! So, stop looking at yourself, and look to GOD as your source.  He can even use your inadequacy to His glory. He tells us in 2 Corinthians 12:9 that His strength is made perfect in weakness. 1 Corinthians 1 puts it like this: 26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are. So, let's stop looking at ourselves, and look to God. Where He gives vision, He will certainly give provision
Moses's Complaint/Inadequacy
God's Response/Remedy
Ex 4:1- They won’t believe or listen to me, because they won’t believe you’ve spoken to me.
Ex 4:2-9-It’s not about you. I will cause you to do things that only those who have a relationship with me can do. You will do things that they will KNOW you couldn’t do on your own, except I sent you. If they won’t believe one proof, they’ll believe another. If they won’t believe by the change in your walk, they’ll believe by the change in your talk. If they won’t believe by the fruit of your hands, they’ll believe by the fruit of your spirit. If your earthly possessions don’t convince them, the way your children and family love and submit to you will. Just use what you have, and obey my voice, and if I’ll be lifted up, I’ll do the drawing.
Ex 4:10- I’m not eloquent, I don’t know all the big words to say, or how to exoge. I’m slow of speech and tongue. (I just have a 6th grade education! I don’t have a PhD. I didn’t go to seminary. Or I did go, but I wasn’t in the top of my class. I had to take the exit exam twice to get out of high school! I have all of these shortcomings, I screwed up here and there. So you couldn’t possibly use a mess up like me!)
Ex 4:11-12- It’s not about you. I formed your mouth; I am able to put words in it. In fact, it won’t even be your words, it’ll be MY words. Since I formed you, I knew every one of your shortcomings before I called you, in fact, before you were even formed. I knew you’d drop out of school. I knew you would use those drugs, I knew you’d get in trouble with the police. I knew you’d fall here and fail there. But I don’t call the qualified, I qualify the called! Don’t you think that if I formed you, I am able to use you? Don’t you know that I am perfect, I make no mistakes? You are the clay, I am the potter! You are the pen, I am the ink that flows from you, writing on the hearts of the people. You are the instrument, I am the wind, the breath that gives life to your melody! I am simply seeking a vessel through which to work, through which to pour out my loving spirit on the people. Surely I know your imperfections, as the Master Potter, and therefore know how to use each one to my Glory. (Read The Cracked Pot) You just go, I will be with that imperfection, using it to perfection.
Ex 4:13- Lord, I just don’t want to do it! Send somebody else!
Ex 4:14-17 IT IS STILL NOT ABOUT YOU!!!!!!Don't you get it? You are not your own; you were
bought with a price! You are now the body of Christ! You go where I say go, do what I say do,
say what I tell you to say! You no longer follow your own mind, for you now have a renewed mind, the mind of Christ!  I called you to do this, and do it you shall! When I put my hand on you to bless you, when I call you, when I anoint you, no one can remove it, not even you! It doesn’t matter how you kick and scream, whine and complain, doesn’t matter what other folk tell you. My gifts AND CALLINGS are without repentance! I understood your insecurities and questionings concerning YOUR inadequacies, but it angers me when you refuse to allow MY REMEDIES to operate in your life! OK, you don’t think you can do it? You want me to send someone else? Well, I will use someone else to go for you. You WILL STILL do what I have called you to do. But I will surround you with help, with other people that will eagerly go where you say go and do what you say do. I will provide a remedy for every one of those faults you mentioned. Many of the blessings and honor that were meant just for you will be shared with others. But you will still do my will! Now GO!!!!!!! Preach MY Word! Be instant in season and out of season! Reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and doctrine! For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away  their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
