Background of our Club:
The Pretoria East Toastmasters Club provides a supportive learning environment which enables members to develop public speaking and leadership skills. Our organization is a member club of Toastmasters International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to help people learn the arts of speaking, listening and thinking.
The difference to a Toastmaster's success is Practice. Instead of passively listening to lectures, people can truly improve their public speaking skills by speaking in front of others regularly.
Our club provides a supportive atmosphere for members to speak before the club . By taking advantage of our speaking opportunities, you'll find that those shy and awkward feelings with public speaking will begin to diminish quickly.
You're welcome to become a guest at our meetings to see how we help members improve their skills. Our meetings are held at 18:30 for 19:00 every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month at the Lions Club, Umgazi road, Menlopark.
Upon signing up, you receive a training manual and will be assigned to a mentor. Your first speech is a four-minute "ice-breaker" that tells others about yourself.
