Chip ID of the NVIDIA Based Card

We have reported that a GeForce/GeForce2 can be turned into a Quadro/Quadro2 professional
graphics card. The conversion is done by just changing the chip ID in the flash ROM of GeForce
from "GeForce" to "Quadro" with soldering and shifting one or two resistors.

As well as on GeForce-Quadro and GeForce2-Quadro series, the chip ID in flash ROM is applied
to TNT2 Vanta-TNT2 M64 and TNT2-TNT 2 Ultra series. In this article, the chip ID information of
all of the NVIDIA video cards are disclosed. To enrich our "GeForce/GeForce2->Quadro/Quadro2"
series, some discussion on turning that TNT2 Vanta/TNT2 into a TNT2 M64/TNT 2 Ultra will also
be waged.

Same as the Quadro hacking, you can mod your TNT2 Vanta / TNT2 into a TNT2 M64 / TNT 2 Ultra
also by converting the ID in the flash ROM on the TNT2 Vanta / TNT2 card. The card ID signals are
generated as to voltage input state on pin 18 and pin 19 of the flash ROM on video cards, and the voltage
input state is controlled by 10K SMD-resistors that connect directly to those pins.

For the method of distinguishing which resistors to solder and which new slots to shift to, you can refer
to those cases of Quadro hacking.

Unlike Quadro hacking, which would unlock several features that are useful to professionals, TNT2 M64
/ TNT 2 Ultra hacking gives you no any new graphics feature but satisfaction of one's vanity, since the
differences between TNT2 Vanta and TNT2 M64, and that of TNT2 and TNT2 Ultra, are core frequency
only.
