In Quake3 and MPEG-4 Encoding, 1.4GHz Pentium 4 will run fast than the fastest AMD CPU, 1.2GHz
Athlon Thunderbird, with DDR SDRAM.

In 3D Studio Max2 Rendering, 1.4GH Pentium 4 will run slow than the 1.2GHz Athlon Thunderbird with
DDR SDRAM.

The above viewpoints were derived from the known benchmarking data and the information revealed by
Paul Otellini, executive vice president and general manager of the Intel Architecture Group. Compared to
the fastest Pentium III, which runs at 1GHz today, the Pentium 4 will offer a performance boost of up to
25 percent in MP3 audio encoding, 50 percent in video encoding, and 44 percent in video games such as
Quake III, Otellini said.
