Once upon a time,
Not so very long ago,
In the cyber-land of Rootsweb,
Where family researchers love to go,
A list was born,
At Nelda's hand,
And she patiently waited to see,
What would become of this little list
Called Tennessee Memories.

Folks moved in,
Introduced themselves,
And the stories started to flow.
Speaking of their ancestors,
and what happened so long ago.
This list grew fast,
As Nelda watched,
She couldn't believe her eyes,
As friendships were formed,
And bonds were made,
It was quite a surprise.

No longer is this just another list at Rootsweb. com,
But a loving cyber community.
(that could be) known as NeldaTown.
Fears and dreams,
Joys and sorrows,
Among these neighbors are shared.
Laughter and smiles,
Are the rule,
And comfort for those who are scared.

So won't you now come and join us,
In our little neighborhood?
Come sit on the porch,
sip some lemonade,
and enjoy life, as you should.
Tell us a tale of your family,
and we all will share one too.
happy or sad, silly or bad,
any one will do.

Genealogy is a patchwork,
of names, places, and dates,
But the stories are the stitches,
that holds it all in place.
