Introduction
This WebQuest has been created in order for you to become familiar with Magical Realism as a literary device in Latin American Literature.  As you are reading The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende, you will need to understand and recognize Magical Realism as a significant theme within the novel.  The four tasks assigned in this WebQuest will help you to form your own interpretations of Magical Realism as well as provide insight from noted Latin American authors and poets. 
To successfully complete this WebQuest
you will need the following:

1.  A Magic Journal
This notebook/journal will contain any and all writing
and drawings as assigned per task.
(Be certain to label all tasks and parts!)

2.  Art Supplies
These may include (of your discretion, as needed per task) scissors, glue, paints, markers, charcoal, pens, and/or pencils.
You will complete one task per evening for five days as assigned in class.
With the completion of your final task, you will be submitting your
Magic Journal which will contain all of your assignments.  The more
creative you are, the more magical your experience (and your grade) will be.
