For 1971, the T'NT 292 and 340 received a new all-steel frame modeled after the larger 18in T'NTs. It wrapped up on the side, meeting the front hinged hood. A new plastic 6.25 Gal gas tank replaced the gas tank that was built into the frame on previous models. A tachometer and speedometer came standard on this years models. There was little changes in the engines other than some minor cosmetic work.
