Our educational program benefits skilled and beginning speakers alike.
Career advancements come quickly to those who have the ability to communicate their thoughts effectively. Toastmasters can help you become more efficient in presenting your thoughts and ideas. You owe it to yourself to become a member of a Toastmasters Club. You'll learn to relax, plan and present terrific speeches, whether you have 10 days to prepare - or just 10 seconds. You'll learn and practice in a friendly, comfortable environment with people who are there for the same reason you are - to become better communicators. Everybody talks! At a Toastmasters meeting everyone has the opportunity to talk - that's why you're there! You'll build "quick-thinking" skills as you present a one to two minute impromptu speech during Table Topics. At a later meeting you will be the one asking the Table Topic questions! You will also be giving prepared speeches, conducting the meeting and performing many other roles such as timer, vote counter, ah counter, grammarian and evaluator. Everyone improves! You'll improve just by speaking regularly but the key to the Toastmasters learn-by-doing program is constructive evaluations. After every prepared speech an assigned evaluator will point out your presentation strengths and offer suggestions for improving your next speech. Later, as you become more experienced, you will assume the role of evaluator. You will gain another much needed skill - listening. Listening closely and carefully so you can prepare an effective evaluation. as you develop evaluation skills you will find that you will become more efficient and effective when you counsel workers.
