Like its Russian predecessor, it has a chrome barrel, blade bayonet, etc. The only real difference is that the firing pin is slightly different, and the bolt carrier is chrome plated rather than bare metal.
This rifle is dated 1958, which appears to be the most common year. Production years range from 1956 to 1960. I have heard rumors that it may have been produced as late as 1962, but I've never seen a Romanian dated later than 1960. Shown also in the picture are the accessories that came with it. To my knowledge, they are all original Romanian accessories: leather sling, leather ammo pouch, cleaning kit, and oiler bottle. It is in extremely good shape, aside from some obvious signs of having been used in service. But I believe it must have been refinished at a Romanian arsenal. The bluing is just too perfect not to have been refurbished. All numbered parts are original and matching. It is a very nice example of the Romanian SKS.
