How quickly will my site be moved into the ring?
As soon as you register, we receive notification of your registration. It is our goal to move a site into the ring within 24 hours after you add the menu commands to your page. We try to check newly registered sites daily. However, if there is no activity after one week, we generally reduce our checks to every three to seven days. Complete the form on the notification page to insure that we move you promptly from the queue into the ring.
What happens between the time I add my menus and when I am added to the ring?
If a visitor attempts to use a menu selection the WebRing system displays a message indicating that your site is in the queue awaiting addition to the ring. The visitor to your site will be given the opportunity to go to a random site from that page.
How will I receive the correct HTML code?
As soon as you complete the registration form, you will receive a system generated email message. Included in the message will be the HTML fragment for the table style menu. Your ID will be automatically inserted into the code. All that is required of you is to copy the fragment and paste it into your HOME or LINKS page.
Are all of the menu commands necessary?
Some menu commands are more useful than others. For example, NEXT and PREVIOUS are the most frequently used. Others such as SKIP NEXT are only required if you encounter an error with the NEXT command.
How can I make my Table Style menu narrower?
Reduce the width value in the TABLE command from the default of 500 to a lower value.
How can I prevent the LIST SITES menu option from wrapping onto two lines?
Try inserting the <P> element between the SKIP NEXT and RANDOM SITE menu options. This will create a two line menu that is very attractive and allows the table to be narrowed considerably.
Why don't you use the TOB logo in your icons?
Since we are not affiliated with the TOB as a member organization, we do not have the right to use their logo.
Are there other logos available?
Not yet. However, in the future we hope to provide larger versions. When that occurs, additional documentation will be added to this site, and all ring members will be notified.
