They're young and seemingly and overnight success. But Human Nature have been together now for 10 and a half years.

The four guys - Tierney brothers Andrew and Mike, Toby Allen and Phil Burton started singing together at Hurlston Agricultural College in Sydney. 'It was all just fun to start with' Phil says 'There was an end of year school concert and Andrew had this idea to do a fifties song. Earth Angel'.

We just loved singing together. I think we were the only four guys in the choir. It wasn't that cool but we stuck with it & Mike was only 12 - he had to stand on a stool to be as tall as us.

Andrew says 'You wouldn't have wanted to have heard any songs from us back then. We sounded like John Farnham meets Queen meets Kylie Minogue'. The group, then known as 4 trax, did an a cappella version of Curtis Mayfields 1965 hit People Get Ready for the boss of Sony Music Australia. Denis Handlin.

He offered them a recording contract on the spot. After considering Fahrenheit and Crush , they changed their name to Human Nature.  Andrew says 'The vocals are all natural and real and human'.  As Human Nature , they've supported Michael Jackson and Celine Dion.

As for comparisons to such other boy bands as Boyzone, Mike says 'we expect all those'. But there have been guy groups around since the Platters.

It's the song that counts in the end.
