Howdy! And welcome to my website. Things have changed a lot since I made my first website in High School. I actually had to learn to program in HTML to get the darn thing put together. Now it's just a matter of pointing and clicking. This page is for you to learn about me. I am a recent graduate of UNCG, and I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies. I am going to be entering a graduate program in fall of 2003 to pursue a Masters degree in Communication Studies with a specialization in Intercultural Communication. My eventual career goal is to teach at the university or college level. I have always had a keen interest in other cultures, but that interest was solidified during my study abroad experience in Vaxjo, Sweden, where I particiapted in the intercultural studies programme. Much of the content on these pages is related to that experience. I am from the mountains and have lived several places therein, but the place I consider home is Morganton. My two wonderful parents and my lovely little sister still live there. I graduated from Freedom High School in 1998. Originally came to UNCG as a voice major but quickly learned that as much as I love singing, I couldn't do it for a living. My favorite colour is red. My hobbies include music (singing, listening to, downloading) of all kinds (pop, rap, country, bluegrass, oldies, soul, musicals, classical, choral, and a cappella). My favorite a cappella group is the Brown Derbies. I also enjoy reading. I especially enjoy classic literature from the expatriate authors (Hemmingway,Gertrude Stein) and southern authors (Tennessee Williams, William Faulkner). I also enjoy contemporary somewhat post modern fiction. I am currently getting in touch with my gothic prose side by reading some Edgar Allen Poe. I enjoy the outdoors and in the summer I spend alot of leisure time at the pool swimming and laying out. I also love the beach. I have a precious little dog named Chiquita. The light of my life, she occupies alot of my free time as well. I suppose that's all for now. Back to main page. |
