The Cast of Characters

THE VAGABONDS

Vagabonds are all those characters (some minor and some quite major) who aren't royalty or connected to them, and don't (normally) use magic. Without a doubt Velus is the most popular of this kind of character. I've taken the liberty of breaking the list of characters into groups that will hopefully make it easier to find who you are looking for.

INHABITANTS of the Southern Caves

Velus the Little Dog - Ep.# 9 (2/12/99) by Lots42, first appearance.
Fred meets Velus in the Left Cave. Velus is a boy who was turned into a dog by the Dragon. He wants Fred to help him find a cure. In some storylines Velus is actually the Dragon or is a servant of the Dragon.

Bruno the Bear
- Ep.# 6 (2/10/99) by Toby, first appearancee.
- Ep.# 82 (2/14/99) by Paulito, his name is revealed.
Fred meets Bruno in the Left Cave. He was once a town drunk but was changed into a bear by the Dragon. Or is he actually the Dragon in disguise?

Aurora the Little Dog - Ep.# 4106 (9/5/99) by JH, first appearance.
Aurora is a distaff version of Velus, or alternatively is Velus' girlfriend. But either way, she is still a little dog when we meet her.

Abe the Tiger - Ep.# 3919 (8/22/99) by Paulito, first appearance.
Once an adventurer, he and his wife went to the Dragon's Caves to find treasure. But instead, he was turned into a tiger and his wife was taken away. He hasn't seen her since.

Ardua - Ep.# 776 (2/20/99) by JH, first appearance.
Ardua is a woman who went on a quest to slay the Dragon but who ended up chained to a wall along with Astra.

Belbin ibn ebl - introduced in ep.# 301 (4/25/99) by Colonel.
Belbin is a mysterious, short, old man who lives in the Southern Caves. His favorite color is turqouise.

Iddiot the Fool - first mentioned in ep. #13423 (10/20/00) by Karen Ford
Iddiot is Belboz' nephew and is betrothed to Hannah (a 15 year old girl in which Fred's mind is trapped). Iddiot is a handsome, 6 1/2 foot tall, rugged, dark haired man who isn't very bright.

SCHOLARS

Ananka - Ep.# 1184 (3/15/99) by WolfRun, first appearance.
A member of the Manimal Council, she is a cat manimal. Ananka was an accomplished natural philosopher before her abduction and metamorphosis into a manimal.

Olestrius - Ep.# 389 (6/7/00) by Lots42, first appearance.
An astronomer who lives on the animal morph island.

Dr.Peter von Cushing - Ep.# 13235 (9/23/00) by Y, first appearance.
He is a learned scholar from the country of Verboten.

PIRATES

Captain Roberts the Hawk - Ep.# 1188 (3/23/99) by WolfRun, first appearance.
He is a pirate captain who sails the Tarel Sea in his ship, the Peacock's Eye.

One-Eyed Jack

He is a pirate and the third mate of the Peacock's Eye.

He is a one legged pirate who sails with Captain Roberts on the Peacock's Eye.

"Mad Dog" Grogan - Ep.# 1327 (6/15/99) by WolfRun, first appearance.
He is a surly pirate who sails with Captain Roberts on the Peacock's Eye.

Billingsley - Ep.# 3891 (8/21/99) by WolfRun, first appearance.
Billingsley is the navigator of the pirate ship, the Peacock's Eye.

The Dread Pirate Lots - Ep.# 10893 (7/4/00) by Ib, first appearance.
The pirate Lots strikes terror in the hearts of men all along the sea lanes of the Tarel Ocean. Lots' ship is the Aoldotcom.

OTHERS

Alfredo - Ep.# 17664 (1/31/02) by mrQrygg, first appearance.
A sixty-something ranger who lives outside of the Allarian mining town of Mudspot. He is one of the best trackers in southern Allaria.

Amy
- Ep.# 2001 (6/3/99) by JH, first appearance but not named.
- Ep.# 2015 (8/17/99) by Lots42, first mention of her name.
A seamstress that Fred finds on an island. All her friends had been killed and used as ingredients in a very popular skin cream.

Arthema
- Ep.# 9419 (5/12/00) by Bill L., first mentioned in one of the options.
- Ep.# 13854 (10/31/00) by Bill L., first appearance.
A cruel but commanding woman, Arthema rules over a tribe of evil Amazon women. After seducing Belboz into helping her, Arthema set about to ravage and destroy the Kingdom of King Embron. An ancient prophecy foretold this attack as well as the fact that only a warrior transformed into a maiden would be able to stop her.

Avery
- Ep. 6641 (12/28/99) by the Grand Inquisittor, first appearance.
- Ep. 6767 (12/31/99) by the Grand Inquisittor, first mention of her name.
She is a farmgirl in pony tails. She has a little black dog for a pet. Aunty Em is Avery's aunt.

Aunty Em - Ep. #6767 (12/31/99) by the Grand Inquisitor, first mention.
She is Avery's mysterious, magical and probably psychotically homicidal aunt. She is sometimes referred to as Aunty Anne but only by Avery and only when she is confused about what day it is. Aunty Em is somehow connected to the Bate's Home for Travelers.

Belbox - Ep. 17945 (2/18/02) by Lots42, first mention.
He is Belboz' son.

Benchley -Ep. 18854 (2/19/02) by Y, first appearance.
Benchley is the Elder of the village of Mudspot.

Hrothgar the Horrifying - Ep.# 9419 (5/12/00) by Bill L., first mentioned in one of the options.
An ancient prophecy foretells that Hrothgar will one day rise up to threaten the Kingdom and that only a warrior transformed into a maiden will be able to stop him and his Mountain Giants from destroying everything in their path.

Padre Fin - Ep.# 993 (3/10/99) by MSG, first appearance.
Fin is a racoon manimal. He is the senior (maybe only?) cleric of the manimals, serving their religous needs.

Robert Billingsely - introduced in an option of ep.# 4445 (10/3/99) by Lots42
A feared outlaw, he was exiled to an uninhabited island so he wouldn't bother anyone anymore. He has a penchant for thievery and likes to pretend he is other people, especially if the other person is of great rank or nobility.

Weylan Rift - Ep.# 1699 (5/22/99) by Y, first appearance.
He is a shady lawyer operating in the town of Walants.
