Update (9 February 2003) - Mac OS X version available

TOKI LineTest™ is a professional software of linetest for the making of animation movies and cartoons.

What is a linetest ? When the animator has drawn the drafts of his animation, he verifies the quality of it - fluidity, litheness, rhythm, speed - by shooting with a video camera its drawings one by one: it is a linetest. The linetest is still very far from the final movie - rough stroke, no colour nor background - but this stage is absolutely needed to guaranty the quality of the animation.

TOKI LineTest is - or was - used by more than 100 animation studios over the world, among which Walt Disney France, Folimage, ... for the making of numerous movies among which Astérix, Babar, ...

The first version was developed in 1989 et ran on ATARI ST™.

Of this simple initial version, TOKI LineTest evolved, improving the ergonomics, the management of the images, bringing the colour and the synchronous sound, and run on ATARI FALCON030™ from the version 2.

TOKI LineTest was distributed by the company YETI SOFTWARE until 1996.

Now, TOKI LineTest is available as freeware for download.

Future project ? The adaptation of TOKI LineTest on Windows and MacOS systems, and based on the QuickTime technology developed by Apple Computer.
