Strategy:

First of all, let me make a few suggestions.  For pure effect, you may want to get the oldest versions of the cards that you can get.  Unlimited Edition land or prior to that has the words "Tap" on the card, which spells out the opponent's demise easily.  Not only that, but generally all of the older versions of the cards (Fallen Angel, Dark Ritual, Pestilence, etc.) have been printed with a lot of dark ink.  It just makes your deck more gloomy.  :)  Also while playing, play some gloomy music if you can too (Circle of Dust, Klank, Metallica, Skinny Puppy, the Titanic Soundtrack...)  And finally, if you can't get ahold of some of these cards, don't worry about it.  (Or beef up the deck and make it even worse for the opponent.)  Find as many nasty creatures as you can, but the most important cards are your Slaughters, your Pestilences, Anoints, and your Keepers of Light.
O.K.  Now to the good stuff.  Your Keepers of Light are the most important in your deck.  Other life-givers can be added (Icatian Moneychangers, Essence Bottles, Fountains of Youth, etc.) but they won't be as effective.  Or annoying.  Combining them with Slaughters, you can pretty much take out a creature a turn (except for black creatures...)  Throw up some Parapets now, and make your creatures have a little more defense...  This little bit, seemingly significant, will be a huge help when Pestilence comes out.  Melesse Spirits will not be affected by it whatsoever, so if you can keep one of those out you can pretty much Pestilence forever.  If you are lucky and manage to keep everything killed (except for your creatures of course) you can bring out (keep out with Anoints) the Bone Dancer or one of your Coffin Queens.  Now after Slaughtering or wiping out the opponent with other means, these guys can walk through untouched and take creatures from the graveyard.  Nasty nasty nasty...  Now, you can also use these Keepers of Light to help you add on more counters on your Souldrinkers too...  Making them bigger and bigger.  Just don't get greedy, jump the gun, and do it all at once.  Forcing your life to go to 5 or less around your first couple of turns makes the opponent really edgy and barbaric.  You just may be eating a unblocked Mountain Goat with a Blood Lust for 5 points, or having the creature Plowshared, making your efforts turn to vain.  Be patient.  You have all the time in the world.  However, the opponent does not.  As long as you have a fairly good defense up and are destroying the worst creatures off, you can pull off some of the best comebacks that will have your friends talking about for years.  "Remember that time when I was at 50 life, and you were at -8 life, and those stupid Keepers of Light boosted you back up to 1 life?  And from then on I just kept dying, losing creatures and couldn't finish you off?  I can't believe that you beat me, and I REALLY can't believe that you won with 60 life left..."
