I like to read, a lot, but a few genres in particular: Science Fiction (The straight-forward-technical kind, and the incredibly goofy no-sense-at-all kind), Fantasy (with a particular leaning toward long complex character-oriented epics), and well-written action stories. Any stories with a sense of humour I find especially appealling.

My interest in reading led to an interest in Manga (Japanese comics) and therefore to a strong interest in Anime (Japanese animation). If you have any interest in well-written stories, excellent characters, and wonderful relationships (or just an interest in animation in general) I highly suggest you explore the world of Anime. My taste in movies and television tends to paralell my taste in books, and is strongly influenced by my interest in anime. Favorite shows include: Lois & Clark, DS9, Voyager, Sliders, Hypernauts, Reboot, The Tick, Muppets Tonight (where did it go?), Forever Knight (now sadly departed) and Party of Five. Movies that have recently caught my attention include The Guyver, Guyver II: Dark Hero, and Innocent Blood.

In all these genres (movies, television, books, anime), there is one theme that I am a complete sucker for, romance. Not the capital "R" Romance that is published in stupid books with pictures of Fabio on the cover, but the perfect pure romances that everybody sees except the people involved, and that have to overcome absurd situations to reach fulfillment. I'm sorry if that's not your cup of tea, but I just can't help but love those stories.

I love listening to music, and in this area I don't play favorites. I love almost all music, from traditional classic and celtic music to modern pop music to neo-classical and the new forms of celtic music. One area that is attracting a lot of my attention just now is East Coast music, that is music from the east coast of Canada (my home area).

I also enjoy playing adventure and action games on the computer. My preferences lean toward long complex RPG style games, or high-tech action style games. Some of my favourites are: Mechwarrior 2, Betrayal at Krondor, Privateer, Lands of Lore, and Doom. I also just recently signed up for the Beta test of Ultima Online, Origin's great looking new Online RPG.
