Things To Ponder before getting an email account:
- User Friendly menus and easy manipulation of emails.
- Allowed account size (4MB recommended).
- File upload availability (file attachment). Recommended 1Mb.
- Features such as email blocker is also important.
- Another important features are easy deletion and moving of emails.
- POP account setup.
- Address book (email address) organizer would be handy.
- Spell checker options.
Note: The below remarks was written based on above criteria and and extra or unavailability will be mentioned, otherwise it has the desired criteria.
Hotmail
Pros: Quite impressive settings for overall mail handling. You could also organize incoming mail listings (ie. by new, or date or size, etc). Could setup up to 4 POP account and easy checking feature. You also could create as many folder as you like to manage the emails. Has spell checker, dictionary and thesaurus.
Cons: Lack in disk space (account size), only 2Mb. Some tend to experience on and off "reset by peer" message!, which could be very irritating.
Yahoo
Pros: Could forward mail as attachment. Has 3 POP setups. Easy attachment feature. 3Mb of space.
Cons: No email blockers (by email address) but has mail filter by contains, which could be useful to some. Attachment size is only 500K.
Net@ddress
Pros: Has Xtra features such as pull down menu for addresses, while sending emails. Offers 5Mb of space.
Cons: Doesn't have a good address book management capability.
Excite
Pros: Xtras includes notifications to senders if you are away for vacations. Offers 4Mb of space. Could download message to your hard disk. Maximum attachment size is 2Mb.
Cons: No spell checker.
Juno
Review: Its an email software that you could download to use it.
Rocketmail
Review: Has merged with Yahoo, so its the same!
