Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive...
And I don't want the world to see me, cuz I don't think they'd understand...

When everything's made to be broken, I just want you to know who I am...

New fic guidelines have been posted because of all the people sending me their fics, and a message awaits all of you on the guestbook :) Please send minor questions there, instead of emailing me with one-liners - use email for longer messages please! Thanks.

I uploaded the fourth instalment of Heart of Fire! It'd been written in 1999, but I forgot to upload it!

14/4/2003 j a g a n has reached 38,812 unique hits. THANK YOU EVERYONE!- Please check out the new links for my guestbook and email, as I lost all my guestbook entries and email that I received from YYH and j a g a n fans since 1997. :( So if you'd like to send any feedback for me please do drop me a comment - I'd love to know how the fans of YYH are doing, and whether you've found my site useful over the many years it's been online....I'm really happy. j a g a n's viewership has swelled in rank from a few hundred to five hundred every few days. I wanted to post this update to show people I still maintain this site. Thank you so much for visiting my page over the years (and years) it's been up, as one of the first and best Hiei and Yuu Yuu Hakusho shrines on the net. I've grown up and left anime behind but still visit this page to check on it and you, my readers. Thank you for your continued support of this site and for promoting it on your websites.

18/11/98 I'm officially stopping any updates to the content in j a g a n except for the links, and preserving it as my very first webpage. I have a couple of other webpage projects coming up, and of course, AcidEdge, my personal site of things cutting edge and urbanite =). The information and content gathered here is quite enough for one little firedemon, and there isn't much out there for more updates. That doesn't mean I'll be taking j a g a n down; it'll be always here as homage to the Dragon himself. ^_^

If you need help navigating, just click on the site guide on the menu to the left :) Check out this site's laurels on Virtual Insanity: Awards. Quite simply Hiei's trophy closet for this site. And oh yeah, take the little time off surfing to sign my guestbook - I'd love to hear your comments. ^_^ Until then, may the Eye watch over you.

W H A T  I S  J A G A N ?

J a g a n (meaning Third Eye) is my homepage-quasi-shrine dedicated to Hiei, my favorite anime character. There are many shrines to the Fiery One out there, I'm sure, but mine is a little different...(if not a little on the weird side). Enjoy your stay, and remember that we've all got a third eye. Just takes a little imagination to use it...and a bit of insanity. :

Eh? Who? Wha?

For the unititiated, Hiei is a character from Yuu Yuu Hakusho (released as the movie Poltergeist Report in the United States, Ghost Fighter in the Philippines, and probably a number of names elsewhere..) a long-running manga and anime by Togashi Yoshihiro. It finished sometime in 1992(?), and Togashi-sensei is now working on HunterxHunter. Yuu Yuu Hakusho begins with the story of Yuusuke Urameshi, a normal high-school boy, fighter and general delinquent who happens to rescue a child from being run over by a car. Since it wasn't his time to die, and his selfless act was quite unexpected considering his personality, he was given a chance to come back to life, and serve Reikai by being a Spirit Detective. Through his adventures as a Reikai detective, we soon meet up with our other heroes...Kurama, a gentle, mischievous red-haired young man who wields plants as weapons, and was once a fox demon in his past life; Kuwabara, the bully of Yuusuke's high school, who becomes his closest friend; and Hiei, the cold, aloof fire youkai who's the partner-in-crime of Kurama.

Yuu Yuu Hakusho is unique in the fighting/power genre because of its intense character development...and its diverging from the usual black-and-white portraiture of fighting characters. Even the villains themselves are often not wholly evil...there are usually mortal reasons behind their actions, not just the usual I-want-to-conquer-the-world megalomania that is prevalent in anime villains in this genre. Because of the sensitive portrayal of its cast, one can't help but be drawn into the story, even though at first it seems quite simple during the first episodes. The drama and excitement spins out to form a fine tale in which one is a captive and willing audience.

If you'd like a more in-depth look at this series, I recommend taking a look at Yu Yu Hakusho, which contains a summary of the manga, and for the complete listing of YYH websites, check out the Anipike's T-Z Anime Series Web Links.
