Chapter 1

When Trunks traveled to the past, he saw the potential of humans to become great fighters. After defeating Cell, there was no peace. Bandits and Warlords ruled the wastelands terrorizing the innocent people. The people cried out for a savior, but Trunks was only one man, he needed help and fast.

"Mother, what are the chances that you have a scouter lying around?" Trunks asked.

"Well I have the parts for one, it should only take a day to put it together, why?" Bulma replied.

"I was thinking of gathering the strongest fighters to help defend the earth."

"Just like the old days, that would be great, I'll get to work right now!"

After only two hours Bulma was finished with the scouter. "That was fast!" Trunks said.

"Well I thought it was important, so I did it quickly."

"I'm going to be gone for a few days, try to hold down the fort while I'm gone, okay?"

"Don't worry about me, I put up with your father remember."

"Ha, well I'll be back soon, bye."

"Bye!" Bulma shouted as Trunks flew off into the distance. Trunks strapped on the scouter and turned it on. Hundreds of beeps came up, but none were even greater than 10. He scanned toward the west and saw four power levels that were over 100. Great he thought. Trunks flew as fast as he could toward the source. Suddenly he came across the fighters on a small island. The island was empty except for a small house that had "Kame" written on the side. "It's Master Roshi's house!" he shouted. He floated down to the island, and all of the fighters stopped dead in their tracks. The three jumped to familiar fighting stances and were ready to fight. "Don't worry, I'm not here to fight you," Trunks said. The fighters were visibly relieved, they could sense that Trunks' power level was beyond anything they had ever felt.

"Who are you?" one of them asked.

"I'm Trunks, I killed the androids and destroyed Cell." Trunks replied.

"The androids are dead," one of the other fighters said with an ecstatic look on his face.

Suddenly the door swung open and an old bald man flipped out onto the beach. "This is my island, you're not welcome here!" the old man shouted.

"Master Roshi, it's me, Trunks, Vegeta's son."

"Vegeta's son? I thought all of the Saiyans had been killed."

"I traveled back in time and helped defeat the cyborgs in the past, and then I returned to the future and destroyed them here, along with Cell."

"Woo hoo, the androids are dead," Master Roshi said as he danced around the island. His students stared at their master; they had never seen him so relaxed before.

"Now I need help defending what is left of mankind, would you like to come back to the Western Capital with me, Bulma is still there," he said in an enticing way.

"Oh boy, Bulma's still alive," Master Roshi said as perverted images popped into his head. "Well my students it is time to leave here and begin the real tests," Roshi continued, " it will be a long trip, but with Trunk's help we should get there in a day or two."

"Alright!" the students shouted in unison.

"Well let me introduce you to my students Trunks, this is Jaxer," Roshi said pointing to his left," next to him is Korak, and next to him is an orphan that I found, so I named him Goku."

"Goku, huh, well if you live up to that name, I'll be impressed." Trunks said, "Anytime you're ready we can leave."

Master Roshi hung on to Trunks, while Jaxer, Korak and Goku, flew off by themselves. After only to hours of flying, they reached the Western Capitol. "You guys flew a lot faster than I thought," Master Roshi said.

"Yeah well we've been practicing you know," Jaxer said.

"Man this place is huge!" Goku shouted. Most of the city was still under construction, but with the help of Capsule Corp, the city would be finished in three months. Many of the old skyscrapers had been repaired, and were in use now for business. Only one house was left in total ruin, and that was Mr. Satan's house. The people had finally found out that he wasn’t that good after all. When he refused to fight the androids, the people kicked him out of the city, after all he was the world's martial arts champion. Now Trunks was the hero. When the people looked to the sky and saw Trunks floating there, they would cheer him on like a hero. "Well, let's go see Bulma," Trunks said.
