I gaze upon you so fondly
For you are so comely.
I fear to come near you;
Wither you, that, my touch might imbue.
You're a white flower in a sea of leaves;
Others exist but none shall surpass
Or even compare with your beauty.
You are unique, the one and only.
Sunlight and moonbeams shall caress you;
Your petals are wet with dew.
If not cared for you'll go
And tears of sorrow will flow.
I pray no one will pluck you
And selfishly hide you from view.
But most of all if severed
Your early going is fated.
But then death claims all,
Even dainty flowers fall.
You'll be leaving this world longing for you;
When you go, I'll die a little too.
