My practical semester

This is a rear view of engine #2 during maintenance. This is a Pratt & Whitney engine.

place: Hangar

On this image you can the biggest passenger aircraft. This is a Boeing 747-200 "convertible". The engineers and technicians gave this name because the aircraft is used for cargo purposes only. When it's summer the aircraft will be converted to a full passenger type. So they transport cows in the winter and people in summer, nice isn't it!

A/C reg.: PH-MCE

place: S-apron

This is a McDonnell Douglas MD-11. The photo was taken after the "push back". If you take a good look at the sky, you can see it is early in the morning. Did you know that the tail-engine inlet is 8m long?

Here you can see a Boeing 767-300 ER is leaving the apron. Pretty nice view...

Another photo taken in the morning during my night-shifts. This picture is one of the most beautiful photo of my collection. Two aircraft's in a row. The question is: What is happening there? Well, both aircraft's will be towed to the hangars for a periodically check.

Have you ever seen water sucked into an engine? On this picture you can see both engines running. The distance between the engine cowling and ground is ca. 1m. The engines are running idle!
