Legend of the Excalibur: Chapter 11 - An Unexpected Return
Later that night, Rini was sitting in her room, thinking about
the Pegasus she saw in the battle earlier today. She wanted to know
where it came from, but obviously she didn’t get her answers. The
Pegasus had left sometime during the fight, and no one knew where it
came from. Rini was about to try to go to sleep when a burst of light
appeared in her room, and the Pegasus appeared again, “It’s you!!!”
The Pegasus looked at Rini, “I can not stay long, little one.
Using my powers in the last battle drained me, and I was forced to go
back home before I could tell you and the Scouts everything. My name
is Elios. I come from a land called Elysion. My home exists on the
dreams of those on this planet, and my people and I can’t stay long on
Earth, unless we go into someone’s beautiful dream.” Rini was about
to ask more when Elios said, “I must go, now. My energy is weak now.
If your friends ask, you are free to tell them everything I told you.”
Rini nodded her head good-bye, and Elios disappeared in another burst
of light.
Next morning found all the warriors, Darien and Mark included,
at the Cherry Hill Temple to discuss the Inner Scouts’ new powers, and
to discuss what happened at both battlefields. Serena and Rachel went
into full detail, from the time they started the fight, till Rachel
got her sword and vaporized General Viper. Amy did some scans of
Rachel’s sword, and discovered that Rachel’s brooch was the sword, in
disguise, but it had required the energy of the Silver Crystal to
fully activate it, and remove the disguise. However, Amy was not
able to find out why the sword was shaped to have the whole it had in
the hilt, “As far my computer can tell me, that’s all it is, is a
whole. Maybe it’s just for decoration or something. After all, it
is, technically, a 3,000-year-old sword. Maybe that’s how swords were
forged back then or something.” Amy put her computer away, and Rachel
put the Excalibur back into her sub-space pocket.
Ray had something to contribute to the meeting, “After you all
left last night, I got a phone call from Jedite.”
Molly gulped real loud. She knew who Jedite was, a Negaverse
general, “Did you just say, Jedite? As in the moron who sent the
Youma that trashed my Mom’s jewelry store Serena’s first night as
Sailor Moon?”
Serena realized she needed to tell Molly, “No, Jedite, as in
the real Jedite, Molly, not his clone.” At Molly’s confused look
Serena continued, “When my Family was kidnapped by the Saiyans, and
the Scouts and Earth Special Forces went into space to save them, we
fought with Jedite again, but found out during that fight that he was
only a clone from the very beginning for the real Jedite showed up and
killed the clone.”
Ray continued, “As I was saying, I got a call from Jedite. He
found all the other Earth Generals and he’s trying to make flight
plans for the four of them to return to Tokyo soon.”
Darien smiled at this. He never told anyone, but not too long
ago he had gotten all his Silver Millennium memories of the Generals
shortly after he discovered Serena was alive, and after she told him
about Jedite and his clone. Serena saw this smile and gave him a good
one-armed hug from her seat next to him. Darien looked down and the
two smiled at each other.
Luna spoke up, “Good, We’ll need all the help we can get with
King Onix and his Negaverse armies.”
At everyone’s look, Artemis clarified, “Luna, Apollo, and I,
recently checked in with Central Control, and accessed any information
there was about King Onix and his men, and it isn’t good.”
Apollo reported, “He is definitely Queen Beryl’s brother, but
that’s not the bad part. King Onix has a large army at his deposal,
enough to raid this entire planet if he wished, and to make matters
worse, we believe he has a star fleet, fortunately, we think he
doesn’t have enough energy yet to fuel his fleet.”
Serena said, “Let me get this straight, Apollo. Onix has a
fleet of space ships?”
“Yes Serena. His naval fleet consists of 47 warships and are
each about 7 miles long, and have enough fire power to level the
planet, if not blow it up.”
“Oh great,” Ray said, “So we have a choice, stop the Negaverse
before they can raid the planet, or stop them before they can destroy
it. Just our luck.”
“Unfortunately,” Artemis said, “We still don’t know King
Onix’s base of operations, so we have no choice but to continue our
defense till we learn more.”
“I’ve programmed my computer to try to trace Nega-activity,
but so far nothing,” was Amy’s report.
Just then Rachel’s communicator to the ship beeped, and Rachel
answered, “Speak at me Captain Orion.”
The Captain of the Crystal Phoenix reported, “Our engine is
just about patched up, your majesty. We’ll be ready to test it in a
few days.”
“Keep me informed of your progress, I’ll probably be joining
you in a few days, Rachel out.”
Luna said, “There really isn’t much else to discuss today, so
meeting adjourned.” With that, everyone left to do their daily stuff.
In the Negaverse, Generals Ironite and Riker were planning
their next course of action. Sailor Selene now held the Excalibur of
the Moon, and is was up to these two generals to get it from her.
Riker said, “The best way to get the sword from her is to threaten a
civilian’s life.” Riker then got an evil smile, “So we just pick
someone at random and hold that person till the Scouts show up.”
Ironite smirked, “And I have just the Youma for the job.
Nightmare, come here.”
A Youma that looked like nothing but darkness walked out from
the shadows, “Yes, sir?”
“I want you to go to Tokyo Park,” Ironite got a raised
eye-brow from Riker, but Ironite ignored it, “and take just one person
hostage. Pick anyone you like.” The Youma grinned, bowed, and left.
Riker just left, having a task of his own to do, and didn’t see any
point to asking Ironite why he picked the same place every other
general did for a battle site.
The figure was taking a stroll through Tokyo Park. It was a
clear and sunny day, the birds were out and about, and the figure
watched as the children in the park ran around chasing each other or
playing on the playground. The figure sat down to rest for a bit and
just watch the whole scene before her, and could only smile at the
wonderful sight the entire scenery made. The scene, however, was
interrupted, and the kids ran away from her.
The figure wondered why until someone or something grabbed her
from behind, “Haha, your my prisoner now women. Now behave your self
until the Scouts get here, and I might spare your life.”
The figure had other plans though. With a swift motion, she
brought her right elbow into the person’s, or thing’s, stomach, and it
let go of her, crying out in pain. She turned around to see a Youma,
With that, the figure
got into a fighting stance and fired an energy blast from her hands
and it slammed into the Youma where her elbow hit earlier, “Test pain
yet? In case you hadn’t noticed yet, I am not a normal person.”
Just then, General Ironite appeared, “Nightmare, what’s taking
so long to grabbed a simple human?” Ironite then turned to see the
figure’s back that the Youma had selected to capture, “So this is your
target? Well then get her you moron.” The figure turned to face
Ironite, and he did a double take at the women, “You?!?! How can you
be alive? You died over a thousand years ago! Don’t tell me you
managed to find a way to come forward in time with the Scouts when
Onix’s sister trashed the Moon!”
The figure only stared at Ironite as she said, “You’d better
believe it, cause I did.” She then sent a blast at Ironite, which he
dodged, but with difficulty due to the attack’s speed.
Ironite looked at his Youma, “Get her!!!” The Youma complied
and attacked.
Serena was walking home, alone. Rini decided to stay with
Rachel and Mark for the day, and Sera was with her Mom. Luckily, Sera
was able to use her Artemis ball to hypnotize Mrs. Baker into thinking
Sera was her Niece. Serena laughed a bit, Serena just rounded a
corner when she saw a Youma doing battle with someone capable of
fighting back. Serena nearly did a double take when she saw whom the
Youma was fighting. Serena wasted no time and contacted Rachel and
Travis, (“Um, Rach, Travis? I’m at Tokyo Park, and you two might want
to come down here. There’s a Youma here, and it’s attacking… Mother!”)
Rachel asked, (“Serena, what’s Mrs. Tsukino doing in a Youma
fight?”)
(“I’m curious also sis,”) Travis replied.
Serena said something neither expected her to say, (“Not ‘my’
mother you two, ‘OUR’ Mother.”)
Rachel caught on and Serena could feel Rachel’s eyes bug out,
(“You have got to be joking!”)
(“Nope, I’m dead serious. I don’t know how, but it is
definitely Queen Serenity,”) was Serena’s reply. Serena’s siblings
said they’d be there as fast as possible, and Serena opened the
communicator, “Serena to all Sailor Scouts. Youma, and Nega general
at the park. Get here fast.” Serena cut the link and went into
action.
“MOON COSMIC POWER”
Serenity was tired, and out numbered. Yet, despite all this,
she continued her attacks, and missed her enemy every time. But then
again, the enemy was doing just as bad. Just then she lost her
footing and fell to the ground. The Youma saw this and went in to
finally grab her. But before the Youma could get her, someone shouted
with vengeance in her voice, “Don’t even ‘think’ about it Nega-trash.”
Serenity, Ironite, and the Youma turned to see a “VERY” angry Sailor
Moon, “It’s bad enough when you threaten this planet and my fellow
Sailor Scouts, but threatening my own Mother?!?! THAT PUSHES ME OVER
THE LINE! I’m Sailor Moon, and in the name of the Moon, I’ll punish
you.”
Ironite just smirked, “Nightmare, a change of plans. Capture
Sailor Moon instead.”
“Yes Master,” The Youma said, and began attacking. But,
before the Youma could get a punch in, Sailor Moon leaped into the air
and began an attack of her own.
“KAAAMEHAAAMEHA”
Sailor Moon sent her attack at the Youma and it exploded at
its feet, sending Nightmare flying back into Ironite, and the two fell
into a tree. Sailor Moon landed back on her feet, ready to take more
action. However, the Youma came out of the tree too fast for Sailor
Moon to counter the hit she received to her stomach, and Sailor Moon
fell to the floor. The Youma looked down at Sailor Moon and ginned,
“Forget capturing you. I’m just going to kill you.”
Serenity watched in fear. Her daughter was about to get
killed and she was about to spring into action when a very familiar
voice she thought she’d never hear again said, “Not if I have
something to say about it pal.” Serenity turned to see a woman with
dark red hair, in a heavy coat. At first she thought she heard the
voice wrong, until a gust of wind removed the bangs from the women’s
forehead to reveal a crescent moon. Serenity gasped in fright and
surprise as her hand flew to her mouth, at whom she saw, before her
oldest daughter, Rachel, lifted a sword and shouted into the sky.
“SELENE EXCALIBUR POWER”
Light busted from the sword and enveloped Rachel. When the
lights faded, Super Sailor Selene stood where Rachel was, “I’m Sailor
Selene, older sister to Sailor Moon, and you two are moon dust.”
Before Sailor Selene could attack, another voice cried out.
“SOLAR FLARE”
Serenity turned and saw the attack was done by a… male Scout?
Sailor Moon got up and after the Youma was, once again, slammed into
Ironite by Sailor Sol’s attack, “What took you so long, Travis?”
Sailor Sol just said, “Needed an excuse for my parents to
leave the house, sis.”
Just then Ironite and the Youma finished untangling themselves
and stood up, ready to resume attacking. Sailor Moon decided to waist
no more time with the Youma, and took out the Chalice.
“MOON CRISIS POWER”
Serenity watched in aw, as her daughter transformed into a
more powerful Sailor Moon. When the transformation was completed,
Super Sailor Moon took out the Heart Scepter and finished off the
Youma.
“RAINBOW MOON HEARTACHE”
The Youma was destroyed as a Rainbow and a large heart slammed
into it, and it said before it died, “Your on your own boss.”
Just then, the Inners, Outers, Tuxedo Mask, Venus Knight, and
the Chibi-Scouts arrived, and Sailor Mars spoke up first, “You ready
to eat flames pal?”
Ironite looked at his enemies and said, “I’m General Ironite,
and as much as I’d love to fight you all, I don’t like these odds.
See ya.”
With that, General Ironite was about to teleported away when a
blast of energy slammed into him. Everyone looked to the sky to see
someone that everyone, except the Sailor Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus,
Moon, and Tuxedo Mask, didn’t recognize.
Sailor Mars, upon seeing the unforgettable man, glared at him
as she said, “Just great. First we’re up against the Negaverse, now I
have to put up with ‘HIM’ again.”
Floating up in the air, with smug look on his face at his
handy work on the beaten General, was Vegeta. Vegeta lowered himself
to the ground and said, “You know, for someone who likes to take orders
from a coward, you never finish what you start. You are a disgrace of
a warrior.”
Ironite stared at this new comer and asked, “Who are you, and
who does your hair? What, did you stick your finger into an
electrical socket or something?”
Vegeta snarled at Ironite, and Super Sailor Moon turned to
Ironite, “You are ‘so’ in trouble. You should ‘never’ insult Vegeta’s
hair. If I were you, I’d run.”
Vegeta began stalking toward Ironite, “You’d better take
blondie’s advice pal? The prince of all Saiyans doesn’t take lightly
to insults.” Vegeta got ready to do another Big Bang attack, when
Ironite dashed into his portal and closed it, not from Vegeta’s
warning though, but at his name. Ironite had heard of Vegeta before,
through King Onix’s now departed friend, Frieza.
Once Ironite was gone, Super Sailor Moon, reverted back to
Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Selene was quick enough to catch her
before she fell, “Wow, easy sis. God you got to find a way to keep
that from happening every time.”
Everyone except for Vegeta and Serenity agreed. Vegeta, cause
he had other things on his mind like how to kill the enemy next time,
and Serenity because she was too busy trying to recover from the shock
of seeing her oldest daughter again, “Rachel?”
Super Sailor Selene looked up into her mother’s eyes. She got
up and walked all but 2 feet of the distance between the two. Selene
just stood there, stared at her mother and said, “Yes, Mother, it’s
me.”
That was all Serenity needed before she ran the last two feet
and took Rachel in her arms and cried into her oldest daughter’s
shoulder. For Serenity, it had been 19 of her years since she last
saw her, and thought she’d never see her again. The hug soon became a
four-way hug as the entire Moon family embraced each other.
Sailor Moon felt a tug her skirt and looked down to see Sailor
Chibi Moon, with a confused look on her face as she pointed to
Serenity and asked, “Mommy, who’s this?”
Sailor Moon was about to answer when Sailor Earth spoke up,
“I think we should continue this somewhere else. We need to leave
before reporters show up.” Everyone agreed but before anyone could
move, Serenity waved her hands, and in a flash, everyone was
transported to the Cherry Hill Temple.
Once everyone was detransformed, and seated, Serena answered
Rini’s question, “Rini, this is your grandmother, Queen Serenity.”
That was all Rini needed to hear from Serena, before she launched
herself into her other Grandmother’s arms for a bear hug, which she
returned whole heartedly.
Serenity was confused about why Rini didn’t know who she was,
cause Rini was in the Silver Millennium for a brief time. She looked
at Serena for an answer and saw that Serena was using hand gestures to
show that Rini was 6, not 8, so this Rini hasn’t been to the Silver
Millennium yet.
Just as everyone got settled down again, Luna, Apollo, and
Artemis came in and all three said at the same time, “LORDS OF LIGHT,
SERENITY!”
Luna was the first to speak, “Serenity, how can you be alive?”
Serena looked at her Mother, “That’s what I’d like to know.
Using the Crystal’s full power should have killed you Mother!”
Serenity looked at Setsuna, as if asking for permission to say
something. Setsuna nodded and Serenity turned back to Serena saying,
“Actually, I have you to thank for being alive today, Serena.” At
Serena’s confused look, Serenity began her tale.
Queen Serenity watched as all the spirits of those she loved
and ruled over lifted into the air and travel to Earth. Queen
Serenity gave a sigh. Everyone’s safe and has a chance to begin new
lives and be happy. Everyone that is, except for her. Serenity used
the Crystal’s full power and was now on her draining reserves of
energy. Using the Crystal has destroyed her life force that, under
normal circumstances, would replenish her energy. Now it was gone and
she was slowly dieing. Serenity closed her eyes and sent a prayer to
the goddess Selene that her daughter and her court would be able to
defeat Queen Beryl and the Negaverse if they ever break free. When
she reopened them, she looked into the eyes of Sailor Pluto, “Hello
old friend.”
Sailor Pluto kneeled down and loomed at her fallen queen,
“Serenity, forgive me. I tried as best I could, but I could not help
this day.”
Serenity looked at her friend and said, “There is nothing to
forgive Pluto. You are the guardian of time. Your responsibility to
it is more important then my kingdom. That I have always understood,
and I always will understand, Sailor Pluto. You should leave now. I
don’t want you to see a lifeless body when I go.”
Sailor Pluto stood up, “That is why I’m here, your majesty.
It is not yet your time.”
Serenity looked at Pluto, “Setsuna, there is nothing you can
do. My life force has been destroyed, and only the hair to the
Crystal can restore it. My daughter has left for the future.” No
sooner did she say those words, did a stream of white light come from
behind Pluto and enveloped Queen Serenity. Serenity gasped for a bit,
and when the light faded, and to her surprise, Serenity sat up with
ease. She soon realized her life force had been restored. Serenity
looked at Pluto and asked, “How did you do that?”
Sailor Pluto shook her head, “It wasn’t me that did it,
Serenity.” With that, Sailor Pluto stepped to the side, and Serenity
saw who did the deed. Behind Sailor Pluto was a woman who looked
exactly like Serenity, except she had blond hair, and had a crown on
her head. The woman was holding the Crescent Moon Wand, and the
Silver Crystal was on it. The woman lowered the wand and opened her
eyes and Serenity saw this person had eyes as blue as her youngest
daughter’s.
The woman then said something, Serenity didn’t expect, “Hello
Mother.”
Queen Serenity stood up in shock, “Serena?”
Sailor Pluto clarified, “Serenity, meet Neo-Queen Serenity of
30th Century Crystal Tokyo.”
Serenity walked up to her daughter and took her daughter’s
hands in her own, totally in aw, “My how you’ve grown. Your sister
would have been proud of you, Serena.”
Neo-Queen Serenity thought, <“Oh trust me mother, she is.”>
Neo Queen Serenity was told not to bring up Rachel to Queen Serenity
by Sailor Pluto so didn’t say anything out loud.
Sailor Pluto interrupted, “Serenity, we must take you with us.
You are destined to give birth to your twins again.” Serenity cried
in tears of joy at the news, and then grew a little sad, and asked,
“What of Rachel, Setsuna?”
Sailor Pluto shook her head, “I can not say anything about
that Serenity. Come, we must go.” With that, Sailor Pluto opened a
time portal and everyone stepped through.
“Your future self and Sailor Pluto then made sure I was
reeducated in 20th Century life before the two of you went back to the
30th century. Two years later, to my great joy, I was reunited with
your father and we were married shortly after. You and Travis were
born a year after our marriage. I was quite sad when Rachel wasn’t
reborn. Shortly after your birth, I felt the Nega-verse closing in on
me. Your father and I knew the only way to ensure your safety was to
give you up for adoption. It was the hardest thing both of us had to
do. Shortly after I gave you up, the Nega-verse stopped trying to
find me for some reason that we don‘t know,” Queen Serenity concluded.
Serena asked, “Mother, what ever happened to father anyway? I
have no memories of him, Silver Millennium or otherwise.”
“During the Millennium, when you and Travis were 5, your
father was called away on a military matter. While he was away, he
was attacked by one of Onix’s starships and your Father’s ship was
destroyed. This century, he is presently out of the country on
business and is expected home tomorrow. Your father and I own a
building company that is known world wide,” Serenity answered before
turning to her oldest daughter, “Now what happened to you Rachel?”
Rachel went into detail about how she ended up in the 20th Century,
and the events that went on since she came to Tokyo. One particular
event didn’t please Serenity, “You yelled at your sister when you
first saw her as Sailor Moon?!”
“Mother, don’t be angry at Rach for her actions. She didn’t
know it was me, and you know how she is with trusting new people,”
Serena said, before turning to Vegeta, “Now, Vegeta, what are you
doing in this neck of town? I assumed you‘d still be at Capsule
Corp., on the far side of town, training for the Androids.”
Vegeta said, “Well, Blondie, my reason is simple. I felt
increasing power levels for the past couple of weeks so I decided to
get training in the best way, real combat. Now where is the enemy? I
want to pound something.”
“First off, please ‘STOP’ calling me Blondie, that’s all
you’ve ever called me. Second, we don’t know. We‘ve been trying to
find that out since this war with the Negaverse started. Are the
others coming?”
“Not to me knowledge, Blondie,” this got a groan from Serena,
“I don’t keep tabs on everyone else’s training.”
During all this, Pluto was silent, obviously hiding something
as she always did, The meeting went on for a few more minutes before
everyone went back home, and the Moon family went to the Tsukino
house. To say Mrs. Tsukino was shocked to see Serenity there was an
understatement. The guests stayed for dinner and left late at night
before everyone turned in for the night.
In the Nega-verse, King Onix was, yes you guessed it, M-A-D
mad, “What do you mean you failed, Ironite?”
“My lord, to unexpected events took place. My Youma nearly
caught Sailor Moon’s mother, Queen Serenity, and Vegeta showed up.”
“WHAT? You nearly had Queen Serenity, who is suppose to be
dead, and Vegeta showed up,” King Onix asked. Onix was quite familiar
with Vegeta’s background through talks with his now dead friend Frieza,
who dies on a planet called Namek. The Moon Generals were the second most powerful force
during the Moon Kingdom, the Scouts being the first, and they could
prove to be a problem if they were found and got in the fight. It was
bad enough when they killed another friend of his named Talpa.
