Just as there are the Mazoku or demon race in the world of Slayers there are also the race of Holy Dragon gods who fight the mazoku and protect the world. The creator of the Holy Dragons is The Lord of Nightmares or L.O.N. In the Slayers Dimention there are 4 Universes that exist on seperate planes. In each dimention the Lord of Nightmares created a god that is good (A Holy Dragon) to preserve order and protect the dimention and a god that is evil (A Mazoku) to destroy the world and return it to a sea of chaos. These gods are equally powerful and compete constantly. The Lord of Nightmares is neutral and watches the battles. In Lina's dimention L.O.N. created the Holy Dragon Ceified and the Mazoku Ruby Eye Sabaranigudu (Shabranigdo) to fight. In the universe that the anime Lost Universe takes place in L.O.N. created the Holy Dragon Volfied and the Mazoku Dark Star to do battle. The hierarchy of holy dragons in Lina's dimention consists of the divine dragon Celfied at the top and under him are The Water Dragon King Suiryu-ou, The Fire Dragon King Karyu-ou, The Earth Dragon King Chiryu-ou, and The Sky Dragon King Tenryu-ou (Who are all parts of Ceified.)
In addition to the Dragon gods there is also a regular race of dragon people who appear to look like elves but can transform into dragons. Filia is an example of this race. The two dragon people races are the golden dragons and the ancient dragons. The ancient dragons were extremely powerful and possesed one of the weapons of light. The golden dragons feared their power, and slaughtered them. The only surviving ancient dragon is Valgaav, and now he is part mazoku.
The top holy god of the Slayers World. In the beginning of time Celfied fought Ruby Eye Saburanigudu to save Lina's demention from the evil mazoku who wished to destroy it. This battle lasted for thousands of years, until Celfied split Saburanigudu into 7 pieces and sealed him in various places in Lina's world. This long battle had drained Celfied of his energy and he sank into the sea of chaos. Fearing Saburanigudu's possible rebirth before he ran out of energy Celfied created four counterparts of himself to protect the world. These are the Water, Fire, Earth, and Sky Dragon Kings. Each is responsible for protecting their part of the world. His top general is Luna Inverse. He is also known as the Flare Dragon.

Area of the world responsible for protecting: The North
Also known as Aqua Oba-san (Grandma Aqua). 1000 nears ago a piece of Saburanigudu was revived in the body of a human. The Water Dragon King (or really Queen) fought Saburanigudu. She managed to seal the piece away in ice. But even though she sealed the piece her dragon form was defeated, causing Saillune to lose it's sacred powers since they worship her there. She helps Lina along during Slayers Next. She appears as a very short old women with blue eyes and carries a wooden staff. She resides in the North near Dragon's Peak, where she and Celfied fought Saburanigudu. She is also called Laguladia.
Area of the world responsible for protecting: The East
Little is known about this God except that Filia is a priestess to him. He resides in the East where Filia is from. This is south of the desert where Phibrizo resides. He is also called Vulabazard.
Area of the world responsible for protecting: The South
Nothing is known about this Dragon King and he is also called Lanngourt.
Area of the world responsible for protecting: The West
Nothing is known about this Dragon King. He is also called Barluwin.

The King of the Gold Dragons, Malgazia is a handsome and polite Dragon who helps Lina find a Clair Bible. He is wary of Xelloss, and strongly dislikes him. He works for the Water Dragon King. Malgazia resides on Dragon's Peak, which is located near the residence of the Great Dark Lord of the North, Dynast Grausherra.

Saijoro is the leader of the Gold Dragons and was one of those responsible for the killing of the Ancient Dragons. He is protective of Filia and takes care of her. Saijoro sent Filia out to find strong people to help the dragons. He (Like so many other characters.) hates Xelloss.Back to the tavern entrance is through here.
