| Our vision is to team up with City Seeds, local schools and other socially responsible groups and individuals to create a much needed youth center/community center.
Some of these formerly mentioned individuals own a house on the end of Houston Street, near the Montford area, and are trying to start a community land trust, such as the successful 12 year-old model in Durham which keeps housing affordable for low income families and first time home owners.
We also had in mind building efficient, eco-conscious, co-housing clusters on old house sites. We see this as an opportunity to manifest many dreams of a wide variety of people, as well as clean the years of trash dumped in this beautiful forest area, that is one of the only remaining green spaces in the heart of the city.
It is a great way to ease tensions between merchants and local young people also creating an environment of communication and equality between segregated peoples of different backgrounds. It will fill many holes in our local community, help give those who need it support and direction, and foster a sense of hope and accomplishment.
We ask that you support us in any way you can. It's been a long time since anything this pure-hearted has come along and it's obvious that this is greatly needed here if not everywhere.
