Neo-Queen Serenity woke with a start, and found her husband shaking her violently --
the only method to wake her up from her sleeps.
What s up, honey? She yawned and stretched her arms.
We re out of Crystal Tokyo! Neo-King Endymion exclaimed enthusiastically.
And that s the reason you woke me up from my sweet dreams? Serenity balked.
Hey! You told me to wake you up when we re out of Crystal Tokyo! Endymion
protested.
Still! I was having one of my best dreams in my life! Serenity retorted, cranky and
grouchy from her interrupted sleep.
What were you dreaming then? Endymion demanded. What kind of dream would
have made you so unreasonably yelling at me for being interrupted?
Serenity blushed. Uh......well, you were......kissing me.
And you yelled at the real person who can give you a real kiss because he woke you
from your dream kiss? Endymion stared at his wife with disbelief, dismayed.
Serenity leaned forward and kissed him emphatically. Endymion, daunted by the kiss,
did not protest anymore.
They were on the crystal train that runs between Crystal Tokyo and another city, Crystal
Fantasia, where they have planned to stay for their workshop, and in order to stay reasonably
close to Crystal Tokyo just in case if Small Lady foul up as temporary Queen.
Wow! We re finally out of Crystal Tokyo! Serenity exclaimed like a child going on a
train ride for the first time.
Endymion was about to scold, I told you before! Didn t you listen? But, thinking of
that wonderful kiss, he changed his mind and reconsidered, Yeah, how nice.
When was the last time we were away from our Crystal Palace, dear? Serenity asked
empathetically.
Hmmm......can t remember. Sometime around 500 years ago? We sneaked out and
got into big trouble! Endymion smiled, recalling from his sweet memories.
Well, this time we arranged it, so the trouble should be less. Serenity laughed.
Or there should be no trouble at all. Endymion said somewhat uneasily. He was a
responsible person, unlike his wife. And thinking of leaving a handful of troubles to Small Lady
while they were away having fun made him feel somewhat guilty. But he was bored, even for a
patient person like him. It had been a thousand years since he and Serenity had themselves
wrapped up tightly with politics, a subject he was least interested in, and not to mention his wife.
He wanted a break!
Come on! Darling! We re on a vacation right now! Why think about such disturbing
thoughts? Serenity, who could be extremely sensitive when she tried, noticed her husband s
troubled expression and changed the subject. Although most of the time she remained insensitive
and careless, she paid attention to the ones she cared the most and could be very warm and

She was almost thankful that she hadn t fouled up just yet. She nervously looked around
the Court Room, but didn t seem to find any doubting face. A little relieved, she tuned back her
attention to what the Court Officer had been so busy reporting to her.
......the Day of Serenity ceremony would be held next week, and the preparations are
almost ready. All we have to do is to wait for the King and the Queen s return to do the service.
Well done. Small Lady said in her most formal way. Lord Eskmo, Mother will be
very pleased.

The Day of Serenity was the day Neo-Queen Serenity had used her Imperial Silver
Crystal to cleanse and purify the world, creating what was now the Crystal Millennium, as well as
the kingdom of Crystal Tokyo. Every year on this day The King and the Queen held a ceremony
in memory of this special event. That was another reason why they only had one week for their
workshop, since they have to come back in time to perform the service.
The court went on just like the old days, only with Small Lady sitting on the throne
instead of Neo-Queen Serenity and Neo-King Endymion. But no one seemed to notice that, well,
maybe except Small Lady herself.
Finally all the routine business was done, and Small Lady dismissed the court with a
relieved sigh, which almost ruined her excellent performance as temporary Queen in the day.
Small Lady, you ve done the job very well. Jupiter said beside her with a warm,
encouraging smile.
Thank you, Sailor Jupiter. Small Lady smiled weakly, almost collapsing on her royal
throne chair. But I still have six more days to go!
In the future, you ll have to do it for the rest of your life. Mars grinned, sometimes her
honesty really was discouraging. You ll have to get use to it.
I had thought mom and dad would sit on this throne forever! Small Lady declared.
And I ll never have to worry about these boring and troublesome routine governing business ever
in my life!
Well, your parents had been doing that for nine hundred and ninety-three years
already. Mercury smiled and tapped on Small Lady s shoulder gently.
You counted every single year, Mercury? Venus stared at Mercury, bemused.
Are you meeting her for the first time today, Venus? Mars rolled her eyes. Mercury
has every single event in the world with the most accurate data in her oversized super-brain!
Of course I know that! Venus retorted. Can t I even express my feelings of being
amazed without your scolding behind my back?
Oh! Sure! You ve every right to do that! But don t make yourself such a fool by doing
that! I just can t stand it! Mars retorted.
Who are you calling a fool, huh? Venus hissed vehemently, evidently not pleased by
Mars blunt comment.
Who else do you think I m talking to right now? Mars hissed back, for a moment
Small Lady almost thought she saw flames burning in Mars eyes.
The two started yelling at each other, and caused Small Lady and the other two senshi to
hang their heads.
Geez! Those two have been arguing with each other for over a thousand years!
Jupiter shook her head. Won t they ever stop that foolishness!
Small Lady smiled, Well, at least they didn t argue as much as Mars do with mom.
In the meantime, the two started making faces to each other. And the other three people
in the room felt that they couldn t stand the noise and the absurdity anymore.
Want to get out of here now? Mercury suggested brilliantly. I guess we could check
on the King and the Queen to see how they re doing now. Those two are too important to be
running loose out in the Kingdom all by themselves.
Small Lady and Jupiter nodded, and they left the Court Room to the two yelling senshi
gratefully.

Serenity and Endymion stepped out of the train station excitedly, beginning their trip.
What a place. Serenity exclaimed.
Endymion wanted to say that the place didn t look that much different from Crystal
Tokyo, but didn t want to displease his wife either, therefore, remained silent. Well, surely any
place would be better than Crystal Tokyo if you ve already lived there for more than a thousand
years.
Oh! Endymion, how I love this place! Serenity was still exclaiming.
Uh......darling, I think we better not call each other Endymion and Serenity here, just in
case if anyone is eavesdropping. It s going to be a whole lot of trouble if anyone find out our true
identities. Endymion said, interrupting his wife.
Oh! Of course you re right, En......uh......but, what should we call each other then?
Serenity nodded agreement.
Hmmm...... Endymion pondered for a moment, and then replied, Let s use our old
names here: Marmoru and Usagi. That s easy enough to remember.
Whatever you say, Mamo-chan. Serenity said graciously.
Then, suddenly, there was a beeping sound coming out from Endymion s pocket.
Oh! It must be the senshi and Small Lady! Serenity said. Let s find a place where
no one will bother us and answer their call. Serenity said.
Endymion nodded. The couple found a corner around the train station, took out their
communicator, and pressed a button.
Mercury s image appeared on the little screen on the communicator.
How s things going back there? Serenity asked.
Small Lady s doing a pretty good job. Everything s fine. Just that Mars and Venus are
arguing back in the Court Room. Mercury reported.
Tell Venus I said thanks! Serenity joked. She replaced me in that argument!
Mercury smiled, Sure. Than added, How about you? Where are you and Neo-King
Endymion right now?
We re in Crystal Fantasia right now, just getting started. Endymion replied.
Let me check. And there s the sound of typing coming from the communicator. So
you re around Crystal Fantasia Station, am I correct?
Right! Serenity said, then teased. Do you have to keep track on our every step?
Well, you two are too important to be running loose out there. Mercury said seriously,
not getting Serenity s joke.
Then suddenly Small Lady appeared on the screen.
Hello! Mom! Dad! She called.
Hello! Sweetheart! Handling the queenly job okay? Serenity called back.
Yeah, sure. You can count on me, mom. Small Lady replied, but deep inside herself
she wasn t at all sure about that.
We always knew we can count on you, little darling. Endymion said beside Serenity.
Thanks, dad. I appreciate that. Small Lady smiled uneasily. She knew too well what
her father mean: we are counting on you, so don t foul up.
Well, I think we d better go now. Serenity said. We still have to find a place for
tonight.
Take care. Mercury and Small Lady said together, and the screen went blank.
Endymion put the communicator back in his pocket, and looked at his watch, It s still
pretty early, wanna take a walk around here before we find our inn?
Whatever you say, dear.

Awww! I don t believe that Venus! Mars muttered to herself as she entered her
chamber, which was designed like her grandpa s temple in the old days. Even after all these
years, she still remained superstitious and carried on her daily rituals of praying and fire-reading
sincerely. She had also made her place resemble the past, in rememberence of the wonderful
times they had shared so many centuries ago.
She knelt in front of the fire and started praying. Then suddenly the fire died down, and
a horrendous figure appeared. Mars screamed, alarmed by the surprise. Then suddenly the
image was gone, and the fire was back to normal again as if nothing had happened before.
Was she seeing things? Or was the image real? Mars asked herself. If the image really
was real, that means another evil force was going to strike Crystal Tokyo! And with the King
and the Queen away......
A dreadful feeling swept over her body and made her shiver. No matter what, that image
in the fire won t be a good sign. She s got to tell the others about this!

There was an emergency meeting held in Mars chamber. Mars, kneeling in front of the
fire, was chanting a prayer. Small lady, as royalty at the moment, knelt behind Mars, nervously
playing with her fingers. Behind her, knelt the other three Inners and Sailor Saturn, all waiting
for the answer of Mars fire-reading. Mercury had her computer in front of her, ready to send the
information to Uranus, Neptune and Pluto as soon as Mars have it.
Droplets of sweat appeared on Mars forehead. But the fire remained the same the whole
time. Finally Mars sighed and gave up her fire-reading.
It didn t work. Mars said, exhausted. I tried my best.
We know. Jupiter confronted her, tapping her shoulder gently.
Maybe it was a hallucination. I was overreacting or something. Mars grimaced. But
that image......it wasn t something I d normally imagine and form the illusion. I......I......I don t
know......my fire-reading never failed before......
It s okay, Mars, we believe you. Small Lady said. Would her mother say the same
thing to her life-long rival on whatever arguments they came upon in this situation? She
wondered. But, of course, she knew better than to speak it out loud.
Should we inform the King and the Queen about this incident? Mercury asked.
Well, it s been a life-time ever since they ve had a vacation, we don t have to ruin it if we
don t need to. Venus suggested.
Vacation? Small Lady inquired immediately, catching on the word she wasn t suppose
to hear or know about.
Ooops! Slipped. Venus covered her mouth, knowing that she had blew the Majesties
little secret .
Well, I guess we couldn t keep it anymore. Thanks to you, Venus! Mars gave Venus a
meaningful and challenging look, then giggled at Small Lady. The King and the Queen didn t
leave Crystal Tokyo for a workshop, it was actually a vacation......
And they lied to me so I would take over the throne for them without further
protestations? Small Lady guessed the truth, and rolled her eyes.
Well, they re on a working vacation, abbreviated workshop...... Jupiter, trying her best
to cover for the King and the Queen s little mischief on their own daughter, was about to say
more, but was interrupted.
Such abbreviation may not be proper, since the two terms...... Mercury was just about
to fathom an immediate thousands words essay on the differences and similarities between the
two terms working vacation and workshop right from her brain, but Venus covered her
mouth with her hand before she could say anymore, and saved the senshi and Small Lady from a
boring lecture on the subject.
Small Lady sighed and didn t say anymore. What could she say anyway, as the
unfortunate daughter of two irresponsible parents who takes advantages of their own daughter?
Queen Serenity and King Endymion was already in Crystal Fantasia. There would be no point in
calling them back to Crystal Tokyo, just because she had discovered her parents little mischief on
her. By the way, using that excuse, she could probably take the advantage back from them by
accusing them in leaving her with this heavy queenly chore while they were away having fun.
She could demand some extra leisure time or skip a few lessons from Professor Sailor
Mercury......thinking of that, Small Lady smiled wickedly......

Endymion and Serenity was running along the muddy path along a hillside from Crystal
Fantasia, looking for a shelter to hide from the sudden storm that poured so unkindly and
unexpectedly on them, while they were taking a nice little stroll in the wilderness.
I don t believe it! Serenity grumbled. It was so nice and sunny just a moment ago!
Believe it or not, you re already soaked. Endymion ridiculed as he ran along with his
wife. Well, this is one disadvantage out of the Crystal Palace: you won t have a roof on top of
you just when you most needed it!
Why did you suggest to come here anyway? Now we re all soaking wet! Serenity
protested crankily as the wet clothes made her increasingly uncomfortable.
So you re blaming me now, huh? Endymion retorted. I just suggested to take a
walk, but it was you who insisted on coming this far!
Oh yeah! Then why did you suggest to take a walk in the first place? Now we re all
soaked! Happy now? Serenity shot back immediately, making a face.
Endymion was about to snap something unkindly back, but something caught his sight
before he could do so and stopped him. Instead, he exclaimed in relief, Look! A house!
With the thought of a shelter in the heavy rain and possibly some change of dry clothes if
the owner of the house was kind enough, Serenity and Endymion forgot about their fight and ran
towards the house at full speed.
Endymion rang the door bell, and a handsome young man in a T-shirt and jeans opened
the door.
Hi! We re tourists from another city, and got caught in the rain unexpectedly. Is it okay
if we stay here until the rain stops? Endymion asked.
By all means! The young man said, letting them in. Oh! My goodness! You re
soaking wet! Let me get you something dry to change! Eve! Where are you? Eve!
A beautiful woman in a black dress came out. Her beauty almost stunned Endymion
and froze him in place. But, knowing that he will get into BIG trouble if he showed the least bit
of appreciation on Eve s beauty with his wife standing right beside him, he remained absolutely
unmoved, at least on the face.
What s the matter, brother? Eve asked. Oh! Who are these people? Oh my!
They re dripping wet!
I m Mamoru, this is my......sister, Usako. We are tourists, and got caught in the middle
of the storm. Endymion introduced himself and Serenity.
Endymion felt the tension of Serenity s controlled anger when she heard of him
introducing her as sister . But, luckily, Serenity did not protest out loud, just yet.
Eve, go get them some dry clothes. The young man told her sister.
Oh! Sure! Of course! Eve said, and hurried off.
Eve came back with a T-shirt and a pair of sports pants for Endymion and an oversized
black dress like that she was wearing for Serenity. They changed quickly, and Endymion
couldn t help laughing when he saw Serenity in that oversized dress. That dress was so big for
her she had to hold the fabric in place from exposing her fine bosom. Endymion couldn t help
but felt a stir of jealousy as Eve s brother blushed at the sight and abruptly turned away from
her.
Stop laughing! Serenity snapped at her husband and blushed red in embarrassment
from Eve s brother s abrupt motion.
Endymion finally managed to stop laughing, and started to worry what his wife was
going to do to him as revenge for this little incident.
Well, Usako-san, if you really don t like that dress, I can lend you one of my T-shirt and
jeans. Eve s brother said gently.
A nuance of jealously swept over Endymion: why is that guy being so nice to Serenity?
Serenity didn t seem to notice that her husband was being annoyed. She gave Eve s
brother a sweet smile, Oh! Thank you so much! You re wonderful! Oh! By the way, what s
your name?
Ooops! I forgot to introduce ourselves! He exclaimed. My name is Vil, and this is my
sister, Eve.
Hi! Vil! Nice to meet you! Eve! Endymion and Serenity replied together.
Eve brought out another T-shirt and a pair of pants for Serenity. She looked better in
the T-shirt -- at least no more forbidden flesh was going to expose -- although it s still oversized
on her. The pants wouldn t fit her, therefore she wore one of Eve s skirts. Then the four sat
beside the fire for warmth and talked.
So where are you from? Vil asked.
Crystal Tokyo. Endymion replied. We came here for a week s vacation.
Endymion was about to make up a story of their life in Crystal Tokyo. But he stopped as
Serenity fell asleep on Vil s shoulder unknowingly in the coziness. Jealousy swept over him like
gasoline splashed on flames. Why did she lean on Vil s shoulder instead of his? He bellowed
inside. But he remained calm, for he wouldn t want to blow the secret that they were actually the
King and Queen of the kingdom to Vil and Eve.
I guess one of our guests is tired. Vil smiled. Maybe we can put her on Eve s bed or
something?
Uh......I can just wake her up. Endymion said, embarrassed
Oh! No! Let her sleep. It s okay. By the way, it s already getting dark, and the rain
doesn t seem like it s going to stop soon. So why don t you stay at our place for tonight? We
have plenty of room! Eve can share her bed with Usako-san while I can share mine with you.
Vil said.
We can just sleep on the couch. It s already really nice of you to let us stay for tonight.
Endymion refused.
No! No! It s been a long time since we had someone to talk to besides each of
ourselves. C mon, Mamoru-san.
Finally Endymion gave in. They moved Serenity into Eve s room without waking her,
since waking her up from her sleep was quite impossible. Then, they settled down for the night.
