The goal of the SEELE group is to review EVA fanfics stories, to give the good and bad points of each reviewed stories. We do this to provide information to help guide the choices of EVA fanfic readers, to acknowledge the work of the many EVA fanfic author out there, to encourage the reading and writing of Evangelion fanfiction and maybe even guide future writers. We do this also because we enjoy EVA fanfic and because we have too much time on our hands ^_^
Disclaimer:
What we are NOT here to do is to select the "best" fanfic or give out awards. We will not quantify our reviews with number ratings (though we may give our overall opinion, like a thumbs-up or thumbs-down). We do not claim to know everything about Evangelion, nor do we pretend to be literary critics of a professional level (far from that). Most of all, the opinions presented here are precisely that--opinion. Our word is most certainly not law, and our opinions are no more or less valid then anyone else's.
Note: We use here the same disclaimer used by The Evangelion Fanfic Review Syndicate written by it's founder, NGE fanfic pioneer Andrew Huang, with the approval of said group, as it describes perfectly our intents.
Additional note: This is a *review* group, not a pre-reading group. In other words, we give our comments on stories, or at least story parts officially released. For C&C (comment and criticism), a group such as the EFML (Evangelion Fanfic Mailing List) is recommended.
Members of SEELE:
SEELE-01: A.k.a. Rakna. Part time Computer Specialist, part time fanfic writer, part time fanfic pre-reader and now part time fanfic reviewer. Occasional fanfic archive webmaster. All time anime Otaku. French Canadian of the group. Started this review group to keep himself occupied until he can find a good plot to conquer the world ^_^
SEELE 02: A.k.a. Axel Terizaki. French member, being torn up between studying, writing fanfics, maintaining his site, translating fanfics, learning programmation languages, being on IRC channels, etc. In order to finish himself off, he decided to become a SEELE member... all for the sake of Instrumentality...
SEELE 03: A.k.a. Godsend777. Our first American reviewer. Our parody and humor specialist, even if he sometimes consider his work like "childish crap" (but we don't share that opinion). Likes to hunt fics with the dreaded self-insert Author Created Character (ACC for short). If we can get his attention off Final Fantasy VIII and other RPGs, we can surely get some interesting reviews from him. SEELE-01's favorite cannon fodder.
SEELE 04: SEELE-04's true name can not be pronounced by mortal tongues, but his parole officer calls him Darren Demaine. Master of the four hidden words that will make anyone think you're a moron, Darren joined SEELE in hopes of paying off the debts from his last attempt to take over the world. When not vainly searching for that elusive thing called 'a life,' Darren writes fanfics, enjoys SF and fantasy, and works at trying to get employed as a teacher after he's done University. As an English Canadian, he and SEELE-01 prove that Canada is willing to accept just about anybody. Earned the title 'Master of the Lemon' for writing lemons that actually: a) won some fanfic awards, b) had a plot, and c) didn't suck. President for life (with chance of parole in 20 years) of the Horde O' Hentai fanfic group (and only current active member), his greatest desire is that someday, someone will not ignore him.
SEELE 05: The second American to join our group, 24-year-old Jeremy Mullin, also known as Stoner 3:17, has added reviewing "Eva" fics to his "to-do" list which already includes attending University and reading and writing fanfics. Enjoys crossover fics, the occasional WAFFy fic, the occasional lemon (so long as it has a plot and makes sense), and just general weird and wacky stuff.
SEELE 06:Ee-Loong Toh is a Singaporean whose interests include international politics, cooking and fanfics. When sober, he believes that the enemies of the Instrumentality of Fanfiction are apathy (i.e. bemoans the lack of c&c), spam (i.e. cheers when FFML moderators ban threads and issue tempbans) and text that isn't wrapped at 70 characters.
Evangelion was created by Gainax.
The individual reviews are the property of the individual reviewers.
Use of a similar page format as the The Evangelion Fanfic Review Syndicate is more or less on purpose (you may take note however that I build the HTML code from scratch). It is our way to acknowledge the excellent work they've done so far. Besides, there's not that many ways to put up a site like this one.
However, please take note that our group is independent of the Evangelion Fanfic Review Syndicate. But we like their work ^_^
