WHERE I MET HIM:I met Doug after I read the story Grandmother Makoto and sent him my long winded thoughts on the subject. Since then we've kept in touch. I've sent him many, many comments abouts his fics and he has been wonderful in helping me with the end of Tales From the Dreamscape!
MY FAVOURITE FANFIC MOMENT:My favourite moment is in A Gem when a very young Kimeko shaves Artemis bald when she thinks that he doesn't want his fur any more!
(RUSH)Tell me a little about yourself.
(DOUG)I'm planning on returning to school to get a computer degree. I have a Business Accouting Diploma. Besides writting and hunting for work I do volunteer work for organizations that deal with people that have mental or physical disabilities.
(RUSH)How did you come to love Sailor Moon?
(DOUG)I'm not really sure, I happen to catch on of the early first season eps. I saw Luna talking, which intrigued me, and I was hooked from there. As time passed I became more interested in this story that had a large amount of potential.
(RUSH)Why did you start to write fanfiction?
(DOUG)Writing wasn't new to me. I'd done some writting before, even complex writting of varying degrees. So when I saw some excellent fanfics I thought, "Hey give yours a shot." I hadn't really intended to do as much as I've done. As people commented and said they enjoyed my work then I kept writting more. I guess in directly Will had a large influence by providing high quality fanfics.
(RUSH)Who is your favourite Sailor Scout and why?
(DOUG)Its a toss up really. I would have to saw Jupiter. She has the largest amount of potential character depth. Where as some authors specialize in "hack and slash" operations, I specialize in emitional roller-coaster rides. Some might aruge that Usagi is the most emotional of the group, and that's true. However, she's vastly to eratic to allow for any true emotional torment. Makoto on the other hand has a resiliance about her. She's tough on the inside but with a hidden soft spot. I suppose if it wasn't Jupiter it would have to be Chibi-Usa for the same reasons. There's a lot of charcter growth and potential in Chibi-Usa. Most people just aren't willing to see it.
(RUSH)What's your favourite season of Sailor Moon and why?
(DOUG)Another toss-up. It would either have to be SMR or SMSS. Likely SMR is my all time favourite. One reason why it is my favourite is because it has time travel in it. As a fan of "Dr. Who" I'm a big time travel nut. There are other reasons but I won't bother metioning them. SMSS is a good season as well because of the enemy and again the characters that are invovlved. I don't particularly care for SMS because of Uranus and Neptune. Both of whom I can't stand. SM Sailor Stars is just too weird a sesaon for my tastes.
