Paying the Price
Transportation costs force students to buy activity ticket

Students in band, debate, forensics, and swing choir may have noticed something different this year when coming to fall registration. Students in these four activities, had to buy an activity pass along with the athletes at the school.

The district decision was made for all three Millard high schools. Transportation for the four activities at MN alone, cost around $15,000.

Appeal Aimed At getting IB Program Started

After reviewing MN's International Baccalaureate application and making a visit to the school last spring, IB officials have decided to turn down the school's request to start up what would have been Nebraska's only IB program.

The school's IB coordinator Nancy Buda said that the school is in the process of writing an appeal to the IB office and the administration is hopeful that MN will be granted another visit this December.
