FIRST STRIKE

CHAPTER 13: IT'S OVER!

Well, we went to the Dealer's Room one last time where that girl from the karaoke room was urging me to join the S.P.J.A. So I can be part of the same club as Megumi Hayashibara! Yay! Um, all I really wanted to know was just know her name but that's okay...

Isn't that Shorty and the balding mouse? ^__^

The Dealer's Room was packed more than ever and Ranma-X ended up getting the Final Fantasy VIII soundtrack. Other than that, nothing spectacular happened (just like the rest of the con) and decided to call this weekend over.

On the way back to L.A., we sang, (after the Offspring tune, "Why Don't You Get A Job?") "San Jose! San Jose! No waaaaaayyy! I wanna go back to L.A." Before I review this convention overall, let me tell you what happened AFTER Fanimé Con. We received something that would haunt us until now. It's called "The Curse of San Jose".

We saw gas prices that were out of this world in San Jose. There was no way gas would cost this much in L.A. Boy, were we wrong. A couple of days after getting back, Southern California's gas prices took a hike to San Jose's level! It would be like that until Anime Expo. One of our cars got stolen, a couple would of us would have flat tires, and a huge feud would unfold between two of our friends. We all recovered just in time for Anime Expo, though, but that was scary. ^__^

As for the convention itself, I don't know how many times we said, "This sucks!" The staff was rude, the registration was unorganized, the masquerade was all right (but outlawing photography was not), not many events were going on (for a convention that's pretty big), Mari Iijima is a good singer, WCW/NWO Revenge was real fun, the Trivia Contest blew chunks of suckiness, and the cosplayers ranged from weird to pretty good (we would see Chun Li again in Anime Expo '99). Anyway, if you guys liked Fanimé Con, well, cool. More power to you. I just didn't think it was worth spending $200 for each of us.

DAMAGES= OVER $800
