Hotohori is one of the three most popluar seishi. He's tall, dark, handsome and the object of every woman's desire. He is the 18 year-old emperor of the Konan empire and proves to be a very noble guy. He is gentle and kind and would put no one's life behind his own. He proves it on many occasions, as well. The man is unbelieveably handsome, as Miaka and a ton of mountain bandits mistake him for a woman on first meeting, but never full of himself. Some fans of the series say he's so in love with himself that they should have named him Narcissus, but, guys, he is, in fact, BEAUTIFUL! He never reaches the point where his comments about himself become such that you just want to roll your eyes.
He also harbours a not-so-secret love for the Suzaku no Miko, although I think his love was mislead. I think he fell in love with a dream of a woman and Miaka just stumbled into the flesh role. Anyway, he DOES care for her deeply and even offers his life on more than one occasion to save hers. His heart is his best quality and makes him a very eaisly loved character. Everybody loves this guy! Heck, even Nuriko gave up his manhood to join the royal harem and possibly have a chance with Hotohori! Kohnan's emperor is definitly among my favourites!
