Sound Tools
Roland SP-808
This sampler is something you can use to incorporate many
different sounds. This machine can recreate sounds instantly.
It includes an effector, recorder, and sampler function. This
time, the sampler SP-808 with a pad was used for the sake of
change in the guitar sound dramatically. In addition to the
sampling function, this multi-talented machine incorporates
a powerful effector and filter.
Roland VG-8
The guitar body and pick-up kind/the position of input, using amps
and many more. (It has) the element of making a guitar sound
which can be simulated as you want it. This device is the
ultra-future type. The sound of the virtual Strat from Talbo, such
a dream can be accomplished through the use of the VG-8. (From)
Hisashi's good sense, this hyper machine creates the environment
for the next generation guitar.
Roland GR-30
You can listen to the accordion-sounding tone from Hello My Life.
The sound is created from the system based on the GR-30. This
machine probably incorporated a simulated 384 kinds of sound.
Roland GK-2A
The divided pick-up GK-2A makes access possible from the guitar
to the VG-8 or GR-30. This magical device pushes possibilities
to their limits for the Platinum Red Talbo.
Electro-Harmonix Micro Synthesizer
This micro synthesizer is used by plugging it into a guitar as
you would with an effector (but this machine is owned by Takuro
for the use of his guitars). This machine is an old model so the
sound is not as great as the new synthesizer, but it's still a
great machine.
Rack
From top to bottom in the rack:
Furman PL-Plus J
(Power conditioner and light module)
Samson UR-5DJ
(Wireless receiver)
GCX Ground Control and System MIX Plus

(Digital multi-tap delay)
DigiTech DHP-33
(Digital harmony processor)

Compact Effector
(Digital Music Corporation) Contained in the drawer of the rack
are the power supply, "Whirlwind" selector A/B Box, MXR Phase
90, and BOSS GE-7 (graphic equalizer). The graphic equalizer
is set at a certain tone so that it doesn't go any higher, and is
used for fast solos. He also uses a Big Muff.
All Access
The Rocktron All Access MIDI foot control and BOSS FV-300H volume
pedal for the technicians are set under the rack (a roadie controls this).
GCX Ground Control
This is set under the rack. This is the GCX Ground Control foot switch board
for the technicians. (Used for the GLAY Expo '99).
Korg DTR-1
This is the Korg DTR-1 digital tuner on his speaker cabinet. (Used for the GLAY Expo '99).
Speakers
The speaker cabinet uses Mesa/Boogie EX212 as a stereo. The
speakers are the usual silver color, but they were repainted
for the tour. This type consists of two 12-inch size speaker
units. Hisashi used this as a stereo and set the cabinets
at an angle so that they could be easily monitored.
The speaker cabinets he used for the GLAY Expo '99 were Mesa/Boogie
4X12 4FB and Marshall 960B.
Amps
Marshall (Head)
It's an old Marshall rented from Human Gear (JTM-45). This is
for input type and its characteristic is a "tough" tone.
Marshall (Cabinet)
This was also rented from Human Gear. This was the only cabinet
Hisashi used during the recording.
Callaham
The Callaham amp is used as a twisted sound by Hisashi. The
control is simple, but this machine creates a hard twisted sound.
Other than these, Hisashi has also used a Fender twin reverberator for
the Crystal Talbo. (Used for the song San-nen Go).
Callaham
This is a Callaham amp head. This tube amp is all handmade.
(Used for the GLAY Expo '99).
Guitar Stand
This guitar stand was specially ordered for the crystal Talbo
set. They put emphasis on how well the guitar fits on the stand.
Foot Pedal
From left to right:
DigiTech XP100 Whammy-Wah pedal
Jim Dunlop Crybaby Wah pedal
BOSS volume pedal
His foot pedal is a simple set.
Pedal Effects
The analog CE-1 from BOSS. This model was made 20 years ago,
but this machine is still used worldwide among the musicians.
This attractive machine makes a warm tone due to the analog.
Strings
He uses Martin 12-strings size .010~.046 (.010~.027). For
the electric guitars, he uses GHS Boomers size .009~.046.
Laser Gun
It's Hisashi's common toy laser gun. When it's near the guitar
pick-up, the sound is picked up, and it has an effective sound.
