Fushigi Yuugi OAV Part 1
Title Of Episode 1-Lost Ties
It's late at night. The library is closed. We are brought to the room where
the magical book "The Universe of the Four Gods" is kept. But then, a
mysterious person sneaked into the library, and stole the book.
The scene changes to a subway station. Miaka has just finished buying her
stuff and the train is about to leave. Keisuke shouts to her that she's
going to be late. Miaka runs happily to the train.
Keisuke-"Oh oh, she's running with bags.."
Miaka-"Saaaaaafe--"
BANG!
Miaka has run right into the doorway.
They are joined by Tamahome and Tetsuya. The quartet is going to visit
Suzuno's (Byakko No Miko) grave. When they get to the city where she was
buried, they are joined by her adoptive grandson, Toki. There is a short car
drive there. When they arrive, Toki, being a priest, says silent prayers to
the recently deceased Miko. Afterwards, Toki suggests they visit Takiko's
(Gembu No Miko) grave.
While walking there, Tamahome thinks he is being called. It turns out to be
Gembu No Miko. She is asking for his strength, for she will soon vanish
from existence. Tamahome is enveloped in a red light and is returned to
Konan.
Keisuke and Tetsuya try and figure out what is going on. They think that
Tamahome has returned to the book and leave for the library. But before they
get there, there is a newscast that the room with the book was burned.
Keisuke figures the book was stolen and the room was ignited at the same
time. Yui wonders if there is someone other than them who knows about the
powers of the book. She then gets a vision (of sorts. oO) that if the book is
opened, a Miko will vanish and the person who opened the book becomes the
new Miko. Gembu No Miko is obviously vanishing. Yui and Miaka are both
frightened they will vanish too.
Back in Konan, Tamahome, naturally in modern clothes, is given the "foreign-weirdo" treatment by the locals. ^_^ Knowing no one, he goes to the palace to meet Hotohori's empress Houki and his son. He discovers that 50 years have passed since Hotohori's passing, and that his great-grandson, the crown prince, Gyoushuku is now the ruler of Konan. (he looks VERY much like Hotohori, voiced by Nuriko's seiryuu Sakatomo Chika)
Gyouskuku leads Tamahome
to the temple to Suzaku, where the relics of the shisei are kept. Tamahome
gets nostalgic and slowly goes in--BUT--is repelled out of the mausoleum by
Suzaku's light. He is whipped (itai, no da :P) and is taken out of Konan's
boundaries, dumped off a horse and left in the dust.
Back to the real present-day world. ^^ Miaka is sitting alone. She is REALLY worried about the fact that she may disappear. Yui shows up and tries to comfort Miaka. Miaka shows Yui the ring that she and Tamahome exchanged. She's been calling and calling to it but Tamahome doesn't answer. (To understand this, two identical things must exist in both worlds to communicate.) Miaka is not so concerned about herself, but rather that the memories of her shichiseishi would vanish from her mind forever.
Back to Tenchisho world. Tamahome thinks he is at Mt. Taikyoku (home of
the world's creator, Taiitsu-kun) but cannot see anything. He remembers
Taiitsu-kun's words, "To one with an evil heart, the mountain would be a mere
mountain covered in rocks."
The scene changes and a young woman appears, saying "I have been expecting
you, Nakago-sama." Tamahome freaks out, because Nakago's symbol "heart"
has now appeared on his forehead. The woman offers Tamahome a change of
clothing, saying it will become him very much. (Ooookay. oO)
That's the end.
