Plot:
As a made-for-HBO television series based on a defunct 1950s comic book, Tales from the Crypt has had its
share of witty, clever, and entertaining episodes. True, the segments invariably tend towards the macabre, but
what else would you expect from something with that sort of title? Now, with Demon Knight, Tales from the
Crypt makes the jump to the big screen. For those that don't subscribe to HBO, this may be their first exposure
to the Crypt Keeper and his gallery of grotesque stories.

Demon Knight begins as Brayker, a desperate renegade, seeks refuge inside a desolate boarding house.
Almost immediately, the boarders regard him with suspicion: their doubts are confirmed when the good-looking,
smooth-talking Collector arrives with two local policemen, claiming that Brayker has stolen his "property"--an
ornate and seemingly ancient key.The Collector soon reveals his true, supernatural form, and raises a legion
of demons to seize the key from Brayker. Now trapped within the house, the boarders listen in disbelief as
Brayker levels with them: he is the latest in a line of mortals whose job is to prevent the Collector from seizing
the ancient key whose occult powers could mean springtime for the demons--and spell doom for humanity.
