YFC DESCRIPTION
YFC is a family ministry of Couples for Christ (CFC). It is a means of renewing young adults and providing a view where they can respond to God's call to holiness.

PHILOSOPHY
We in Youth for Christ believe:

  • That God is calling everyone to a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ.
  • That this call is not exclusive but shared with all sectors of society, regardless of age, color, nationality, status and beliefs in life.
  • That the youth are full of ideas and are blessed by the Lord with talents.
  • That the youth are in need of friends and role models, and therefore should be given the opportunity to develop these skills and relationship in a healthy Christian environment.
  • That the youth realize the need to make decisions in life; but they should also know that as they do so, God should always be an inseparable part of these decisions; knowing also that they are future leaders of the families and societies, we realize that this future depends on how they are molded today as God's children.
    CHARACTERISTICS OF YFC
    1. It is a movement characterized by fun, taken in the Christian context. It ascribes to the thought that YFC members "can be what they want to be as long as they are Christian."
    2. YFC recognizes the members are in "fast growth" stage in life. it is during this time when formation is fastest. It encompasses various aspects in a Young Adult (YA) life. The activities, therefore, also relate to formation, while constantly inputting the Christian dimension in everything that a YA does.
    3. YFC recieves guidance from the Holy Spirit, through directions given to its leaders and members.
    THE YOUTH CAMP
The Youth Camp is the very activity that a person goes through in order to become a YFC member. This allows the participants to know first hand, the life and mission of YFC.
The camp is likened to a 2 1/2 day retreat facilitated by young adults. The participants listen to talks, participate in games, pray, learn and sing songs. Throughout the course of the camp, five talks are given, namely:
    • God's Love and His plan for us.
    • Who is Jesus Christ to me?
    • Repentence, Faith, Healing and Forgivness.
    • Receiving God's gift: The Power of the Holy Spirit.
    • Growing in the Spirit: Life and Mission of YFC.
The Youth Camp provides a venue for the genuine conversion of teenagers, through a personal encounter and relationship with Jesus Christ.
It is the place where young people can form friendships with one another as they share ideas and experiences, entertain one another and play games in a wholesome environment where Christian values are discussed and actively practiced.
