Sayoko is an extremely wealthy student at the Nekomi Institute of Technology, along with Keichi and her rich cousin, Aoshima. She is extremely beautiful, with long dark hair and dark eyes, she stands tall like a queen. Among the female students of NIT she is considered the most beautiful of them all. Sayoko's happiness is making trouble for Keichi and Belldandy. She is constantly looking for ways to keep them separated, not to mention, ways to increase her challenged popularity.
 
h Sayoko used to be the popular girl in Nekomi Tech, everyone wanted to go out with her, but her popularity when down when Belldandy arrived. She used to ignore poor old Keichi, but with the arrival of Belldandy, Keichi became the most popular guy on NIT with the most beautiful girl in campus as his girlfriend.

All of this found attention on Keichi causes Sakoyo to see him? in a different light and her interest in Keichi grows. Now she is constantly looking for ways to boost her popularity and win Keichi away from Belldandy. 

Unfortunately, Sayoko also has a drinking problem. She doesn't know when to stop. Usually she has huge hangovers accompanied by lapse of memory, where she doesn't remember what she did the day Before.

AnimEigo's OVA series:

Sayoko makes her debut in Ah! My Goddess OVA number 2, Midsummer Night's Dream. She makes her appearance when Keichi and Belldandy are at the beach, she introduces herself to Belldandy. Later on, she is the one who slaps our dear Belldandy when Keichi "drowns". Sayoko returns in OVA number 4, Evergreen Holy Night, she is seen around the school and in the ladies rest room with Belldandy.
