Nuriko is one of the memebers of the Suzaku Shichi Seishi. People who are new to the anime Fushigi Yuugi might think Nuriko is a girl (that's what happened to me ). But you're wrong, he is a boy. He dressed like a girl because her little sister, Kourin died in an accident and this affected him. He was very depressed about Kourin's death. So he dressed like a girl and lived as his sister.
He first appeared in episode 3 using her sister's name. At that time, he liked Hotohori and was mad (also jealous) at Miaka because Hotohori payed more attention to Miaka then him. But at the end, he found out that the person he really liked is Miaka.
Nuriko had unfortunately died in episode 30 (?) . He was killed by Ashitre

Nuriko's family owns a famous shop which sells clothes. (I'm not sure if i'm right about the famous bit or not.)
