I am working on updating this text.

I have worked in museums since 1989. Just before beginning work on this page I spent two years (1995-1997) in Tokyo studying how Japanese museums work, and I have also spent a (very) little time in Thailand looking at some new museum projects there. These countries do things very differently from the museums of the US in terms of behind-the-scenes activities, and in terms of the social and legal structure that supports them. I would like to share some of what I have learned, and while I hope to publish a paper or three...the WWW is a convenient forum for putting it out there and seeing who is interested. Be patient, I will add information now and then as I have time.

My initial Disney contract ended in April 1998. Things went well, and then we did it all over again (don't ask!). After that project, they decided they liked me...so I am stayed on as an Archivist, and eventually became the Senior Manager of the Animation Research Library. I wouldn't mind hearing if you have a collections management project coming up, of course; I still like to know what's going on out there.

For those of you interested in Asian art, I hope to put some nice photos on these pages. Likewise for scenery. For the few, the proud, the museum professionals...well, at least you might find some amusing anecdotes and a fresh perspective.
