In Osaka.

The huge hotel is labelled as the Osaka Five Star Hotel.

Tsukasa: "...N...?"

Asago starts as she notices Tsukasa, but quietly walks away. Very unlike her. Sumire moves to follow her.

Tsukasa: "... ...U~~m............ ...What's with Asagoo........." {How strange that she isn't breaking in between me and Ryuji.} "Hasn't she been strange since we parted yesterday at Asaba-kun's place?"

Ryuji, looking exasperated: "........."

Tsukasa, glancing up behind her at Ryuji: "Do you have any idea what's up?"

Ryuji: "..." He sighs. "...Roughly......" {I've heard from Kamojima and Shibuya.}

Tsukasa: "... ...H~m..."

Ryuji: "...Man... She's... good with a gun but mentally she's weak......... If she's going to be depressed over little things like that all of the time she won't make it as a gokudo's seisai...... First we have to do something about that easily discouraged personality..." He starts walking off in Asago's direction. {Ha-- What a pain...}

Tsukasa, watching him go: "......" {...And while you say that you go to cheer up that discouraged Asago.........} She watches as Ryuji talks to Asago. He then seems to touch Asago's head/hair. She looks a bit down.

Voice: "---...I seeeee......"

Tsukasa has dots for eyes.

Tsubaki is standing behind her, peering into her face.

Tsubaki: "...It seems true that you have special feelings towards Shirogami." {I detect jealousy in that face.}

Tsukasa, freaking out: "Wh...!! What are you saying!!?"

Tsubaki: "But Shirogami was saying that yesterday." {When you came to save me.}

Tsukasa, in a state of panic: "Aaa, that was his misunderstanding,"

Tsubaki butts in: "I see, I get it. That would be a big problem, to fall in love with a guy." {Yes, yes, there are people like that in this world.} He nods to himself.

Tsukasa: "No, I'm saying that I'm only friends with him."

Tsubaki: "It must be hard for guys like that."

Tsukasa, with huge eyes: "Asaba-kun! Are you listening to what I'm saying?" {I'm trying to tell you the truth!}

Tsubaki, with his arms crossed: "...But he has a girl friend so I guess the same can be said about you." He turns to Tsukasa suddenly and points to her. "Did you know? Even when I just stand beside you he glares with these evil eyes."

Tsukasa: "...He...?"

Tsubaki: "I bet he has a thing for you too."

Tsukasa: {...He...!?}

Tsubaki: "What a chance! Why don't you claim him during this school trip?"

Tsukasa: {---Ryuji what...!? Has a thing for me...!? Hey hey!? Does it really look like that...!?}

She recalls Ryuji's outburst the day before.

"---Since you cry and say you want to be friends, I'm trying to tolerate it like this...!"

Tsukasa starts. {---...Th... That's right, Ryuji did...... say something like that yesterday------... And that strange jealousy-like thing.} She remembers his actions the day before. {..Then what...!? Does that mean he wasn't convinced by my 'declaration of friendship'!? I thought it was strange but!!}

Looks like they're in the dining room now. It's labelled as a Five Star Hotel class breakfast.

Tsukasa: {---But then Ryuji's earlier words make no sense...!!}

"...I'm trying to tolerate it like this...!"

Tsukasa: {Tolerate!! Tolerate he says!? That Ryuji who is so forward and does anything to have things go his way...!! To hear the rational word 'tolerate' from the mouth of the guy who runs a kumi------!!}

During this thought, she had grabbed a lobster (with her bare hands) from a plate.

Waiter: "Customer... That is the serving tray." {Um... What were you going to do with it...?}

Later, after breakfast.

Tsukasa, with a stack of boxes in which she had leftover food packed in: {...C... Could it be...... ...Maybe Ryuji... realized that my brothers are being used as targets by Asago...} The stack of boxes is labelled as souvenirs to take home.

Voice: "Tsukasaa."

She turns to see her brother.

Teacher: "Make sure you do a head count before boarding the buses---!"

Toshi, the owner of the voice: "...Seems like we think the same......" Toshi too has a stack of boxes of food. {...Fu fu... You're my brother all right.}

Tsukasa: "..."

On the bus.

Toshi: "Tsukasa, should we put these in the fridge~~~?"

Tsukasa: "A... Yeah."

Apparently they're on the same bus.

The inside of this bus is really cool. The seats line the periphery of the bus, and there's a big sitting area with low tables included in the centre. There are chandeliers here [!!?] and overhead compartments for luggage.

Tsukasa: "......" She's staring at Ryuji.

Ryuji, who notices this: "...What?" {Do you have something to say to me?}

Tsukasa is playing cards with Tsubaki, Shimada and Kudo while Ryuji is lounging on a seat. She freaks. "E!?" {Uhh, umm.} "I was wondering how Asago-kun was~~~..." {I can't really ask 'Ryuji do you know that Asago's after my brothers' lives'?}

Ryuji: "...... ...I dunno. ...I did what I could. The rest has to be up to her."

Tsubaki: "..."

Tsukasa: "..."

Tsubaki: "...Seems like they're not getting along too well......" Seems like Ryuji can't hear their conversation.

Tsukasa: "...Y...eah."

Tsubaki: "...Then that means," He leans closer to her and whispers in her ear. "Cha-----nce!!"

Tsukasa, pointing at Tsubaki: "...Asaba-kun... You're enjoying this aren't you......"

Tsubaki, trying not to laugh too loud: "...A... ...Can you tell......?" {This is the first time I've been able to tease someone...}

A small hook comes out of nowhere and catches Tsukasa by the back of the collar of her uniform.

Ryuji, reeling in the line of a fishing line he brought out from somewhere: "...You're too close."

Tsukasa: "Uwa---!!!"

Tsubaki is whistling.

Shimada: "...It seems that Asaba-kun's changed..."

Kudo: "...This is probably what he's really like..."

In Kyoto.

Toshi, looking serious: "Tsukasa, I'll say this in advance, but don't go off on your own like you did yesterday to go play." {Think about what I had to go through to get Takunii's consent!!}

Tsukasa: "Hai, hai, I won't, I won't. I don't want to write another essay reflecting on what I did."

Tsubaki and Ryuji, both with their hands in their pockets: "... ..." Tsubaki is labelled as someone who wrote an essay. Ryuji is labelled as another guy who had to write an essay.

Toshi: "...Fine, then you can swear those words on Takunii's hand made omamori!?" He takes out his omamori. {Don't take it off. Don't you dare take it off---!} [Omamori = good luck charm. There are several types that give protection against different things or bring luck (in love for instance). They can be any shape/size but are often like a flattened sachet with strings that can't be opened.]

Tsukasa: "I can swear it---!!" She takes out her omamori. {I won't let go, I won't let go of it---!"

Toshi: "'Kay!"

Classmate: "Hey! Toshi--! It's Maikosan. Maikosan's over here---!"

Toshi: "...E?"

Tsukasa and Toshi: "...Maiko-san...?"

Tsubaki and Ryuji are looking up at this image.

Tsubaki: "Is this their image?"

Ryuji: "...Who is it?"

Two women dressed in kimonos complete with getas [Those Japanese sandals] and the traditional women's hairstyle walk by. They are labelled as 'Maiko-san' [Which I suppose means dancer... I think]

Toshi and Tsukasa start clapping, with tears in their eyes.

Toshi, with awful English pronunciation: "Beautiful---"

Tsukasa, likewise: "Wonderful!"

Tsubaki: "...You guys..." {Are you foreigners...}

At Kinkakuji, the Golden Temple.

Sumire, eating a lollipop, glances beside her: "...... ------..."

She and Asago are sitting on a bench. There's a dark cloud over Asago's head.

Sumire: "...Hey... Don't be so discouraged... You're not the only one that didn't know where Takarabegumi made that threat from." [Sumire is speaking in the Osaka dialect all of the sudden and it's kinda hard to understand so forgive me if any of this is translated incorrectly...] {Excluding my mother and father,} "You know, I didn't know where it was and the only reason that I managed to get there was because I followed Azuma-san........."

Asago: "Don't put me on the same level as a shirouto!!" She turns to glare at Sumire. [shirouto = amateur, unskilled person; the normal everyday person.] She turns away quickly.

Sumire: "..."

Asago: "...No......... ...Even a shirouto... even baka-zuki realized it...!" {---I even hear that Kamojima and Shibuya realized where it was...!} "...But...! I'm the one to become Ryuji's seisai, I have to be a more... perfect to match Ryuji!!" {---I'm the only one who didn't realize it...!! I was the only one who didn't notice the sign that indicated where the scene was so I could go after Ryuji------} She holds her head in dismay.

Sumire, from the side: "A~... A~..." {That's right!} "Asa-yan, Asa-yan. Actually, my mother was aiming to be the perfect seisai just like you. ...U~m... I think it was...... ...Hogou's... kage no seisai or something like that. She wanted to be like the woman who's become a legend." [Asa-yan seems to be kind of a shortened form of Asago-san. Looks like Asago now has a nickname.]

Asago starts: {---E...?}

Sumire stands up. [Where did her lollipop go?] "...And because she aimed for that, mother's become the perfect gokudo's seisai." {I don't mean to brag or anything but her face is well known in Osaka.} "Even from a shirouto like myself I can tell mother's perfect! I think she's kakkoii!! ---But...even that perfect mother of mine has a deadly fault."

Asago: "...E...?"

Sumire, laughing: {What do you think it is?} "...Actually, my mother's a super duper special miracle ma-----jor ultra houkouonchi..."

Asago is looking at Sumire with dots for eyes.

[houkouonchi is a word that describes a person who's hopeless with directions. It's a word that's often used to describe Ryoga (the guy with the bandanna that turns into a black pig) in Ranma 1/2 if that description makes more sense.]

Somewhere in Osaka.

The anesan sneezes all of the sudden.

Itsuro: "Are you sick?"

[In Japan, they say that if you suddenly sneeze for no apparent reason, it's because someone's talking about you.]

Back in Kyoto.

Sumire: "I thought it was strange that yesterday mother wasn't at the scene before us though she left earlier. In front of kumiin, she made an effort to try and get there by her self but on the way she ditched the car and hopped a taxi." {If you get lot driving in a car with a navigator then you're hopeless.} "I didn't have a clue that she was a houkouonchi up until now." {The only one who knows is father.} "But!! It's not like she's an android or anything!! If there was a person who could do e~verything perfectly then that would be sick!!" {Well that's what I think.} She turns to smile down at Asago, who's still sitting. "...Isn't it faults... that give people flavour........."

Asago looks up in surprise.

Sumire, suddenly looking embarrassed: "It's not like I know anything about the ways of the gokudo or anything. What am I to say such things~~~ Forgive me. But look! It didn't look like your guy was mad or anything."

Asago, looking away and laughing nervously to herself: {...But he looked exasperated......}

Sumire: "Either way, if you're depressed like that it will bring misfortune!! A woman of the gokudo should never stop smiling!! That's mother's motto---!! Actually, is seems to be an imitation of that Hogou person...?"

Asago: "---..." She smiles in relief. [Yes, she smiled! She actually looks like a normal person, without scowling or anything!! "---...That's true----..."

Somewhere nearby.

Tsukasa: "...E...?" She blanches. "Ryuji!! While I was pondering over the value of the rooster on the Kinkakuji we've lost everyone!!" She's holding her head in panic. [The rooster refers to the sculpture of a bird, which vaguely resembles a rooster at the apex of the temple.] "Everyone should still be nearby! Let's go Ryuji!" {Damn you guys! If you're leaving then say so---!} Tsukasa grabs him by the sleeve and starts pulling Ryuji forward.

Ryuji, looking down at Tsukasa's hand: "........."

Tsukasa starts all of he sudden: "!!!"

Ryuji had taken her hand.

Desperately, Tsukasa tries to shake Ryuji off by whipping her arm around and waving it back and forth but he won't let go.

Tsukasa, with fangs: "Let go------!!" She pushes him back with her free hand.

Ryuji, calmly: "Why?"

Tsukasa: "...W! ...Why!?"

Ryuji brings her hand up to his face: "Is it because if Asago sees... it will be a problem.........?"

Tsukasa's heart skips a beat. {---...Wh...!...}

Ryuji: "...I've heard... your brothers were shot at......"

Tsukasa glares up in surprise and yanks her hand away, finally getting it out of Ryuji's grip.

Ryuji: "...... ...So it's true......... I thought your attitude was strange from before the orienteering but......... I thought maybe... at the Time Travel World. ...Man..." He sighs, holding his head. Tsukasa has her back to him. "...She's......! If you leave her alone you never know what she'll do...!"

Tsukasa, turning around: "...Don't make it sound like it doesn't involve you......... It's all your fault......!" She grabs Ryuji's collar. "Understand!! Ryuji!!! Asago is a jealous woman!! I hope that you realize that your every movement can make her a little devil!! ...If not...! Then every time she turns into a devil, it bothers me and my brothers......!!" She glares up at him. "---Well, ---now that you know what kind of promise I have with Asago it makes things a little easier------" She pulls her hand away. "---Because it's like that--- ---No matter what happens after this I'll never------ ---move from being your friend."

Meanwhile, Tsukasa and Ryuji had caught up Toshi and Tsubaki by the buses. She glances back at Ryuji. He stares back silently.

At the Kyoto Royal Hotel 'Emperor'. It's huge with a VERY large waterfall .

Tsukasa lets out a mighty sigh: {...I've finally told him, that we are forever friends. [No pun intended.] Now Ryuji and Asago won't be so suspicious about our relations---...} She's walking alone around the hotel. "What a large lobby and amazing chandeliers." {---...When he found out that I was being threatened by Asago it shocked me but it's easier this way and I'm relieved.} "---..." She lets out another sigh. "I'm saying that I'm relieved!!" She starts smacking the side of her head and stomping around. {What's with the manuke sigh!!?} [Yes, she's talking to herself again.]

Tsukasa stops in midstride. She sees a large black feline.

Tsukasa: "---..." {---...E...? ---...Wh... What's... that... ...For a cat... ...that's really large...... ...If that thing stands on its hind legs it's about the same height as me...!? A panther!? Could it be a panther!?} She starts getting nervous. {But why is there a panther in a place like this!? A cat...!? But.}

The panther [assuming it is one] glares up at Tsukasa.

Tsukasa screams silently: {Its eyes---!! Its eyes turned red------!}

The panther takes a step towards Tsukasa.

Tsukasa: {I...It's coming this way...!} "...Stop...!" {It's coming this way!!} "Stop...!" The panther keeps advancing. {It's coming this way!!} "Don't look at me with eyes like that!" {Please!} "Don't come any closer------!!" She takes off on a run, crashes into a column then turns and makes her escape.

Panther: "---..." The feline notices that Tsukasa has dropped something. It's her omamori.

Voice: "Kaarii." [Curly? Carlie? Kali? What's this thing's name!? I think I'll use Carlie until I know better.]

The panther turns and goes to the source of the voice.

Owner of the voice, a man: "...You shouldn't be walking around like that........." He notices something. "...N...? ...What's that in your mouth......?"

Carlie shows the man the omamori.

Man: "---...An omamori---...?"

Man: "---Misumi-kun, is something the matter?"

The man, who's name seems to be Misumi: "...No.. ...Nothing......" He smiles. "---Let's go..."

[Yeah, yeah, description of Misumi. BTW this seems to be a first name... I think. Anyways, he has long dark hair tied in a ponytail. He has extremely long bangs... Don't they get in the way? Not much else is very distinctive about him.]

Tsukasa, with tears in her eyes: "HEY!!! Hey!! Everyone wake up!! Listen to me!!" A bunch of her classmates are sleeping on the floor. Tsukasa is trying to get someone to listen to her. "About this shocking meeting I had!! A cat this big!! A cat with red eyes! A caaaaat!" She tries to rouse Toshi, who's in deep sleep. "U!" She throws him down. "You reek like alcohol!" {And you told me to stay in line!!} There are 3 other guys passed out and asleep.

A door opens nearby. It's Ryuji.

Ryuji: "...Oh... You're back." {From exploring the hotel or whatever it was.} He's wearing a yukata. [A yukata is a simpler, cotton version of a kimono, but can be worn by either sex. Some hotels provide these as sleeping garments.] "The rotenburo's here are pretty good." [A rotenburo is an open air bath. Yes, it's outside.]

The text above Ryuji's head explains Rokuo (their school) has rented the whole floor of the hotel. Every room has a Japanese style room, a rotenburo, and yukatas are provided.

Tsukasa: {...Ge...! Wh... what should I do...? Damn he looks good in that!!} Her heart is racing. {I can't take my eyes off...} She notices Ryuji is holding a bottle. "A!? Dammit---!! It's you who brought in the alcohol---!!" She delivers a flying kick to his face.

Tsukasa is cleaning up the evidence of their drinking. "...Man! If someone finds out about this we'll have to write another essay!!" {Destroy the evidence. Destroy the evidence! Is this something the head of the disciplinary council would do!!}

Ryuji, who's sitting lounging around watching her. "---... ---...Hey."

Tsukasa: "WHAT!!?"

Ryuji: "...About that..."

Tsukasa, with fangs and tears: "THAT!?" {Which one!}

Ryuji: "---...About you and Asago---..."

Tsukasa looks back at him in disbelief.

Ryuji: "...I'll try to do something about it---..."

Tsukasa is shocked at first. She then smiles. She sits down on her heels next to him.

Ryuji starts.

Tsukasa pats him on the shoulder. "Thanks..." She smiles again, looking very cute. {---...Since that's the answer I was looking for--- ...One problem dealt with------...} Tsukasa gets up all of the sudden and starts swinging a towel around. "Since the problem has been solved, I think I'll go take a bath too and go straight to bed! Yesterday I was up all night."

In the rotenburo.

Ryuji raises his hand in greeting.

Tsukasa is staring at him in disbelief.

Ryuji approaches her with his hand outstretched.

Tsukasa: "BAKAYARO------! You bastard-!! Why the hell are you here---!! I locked the door-!!"

Ryuji: "You took forever coming out so I got worried and came to check on you."

Tsukasa: "What do you mean worry!! What's this hand!!? A!? What were you planning on doing with that hand!!?"

Ryuji: "What? Just wake up you up, like this..."

Squeeze.

Tsukasa: "KYAAAAA!" [What a girly scream.] Sound effects of someone getting punched out. "You haven't solved the problem at all---!!"

Somewhere else, probably at a different hotel.

Kamo-san and Bun-san are also bathing in an outdoors bath. There's a full moon out.

Kamo-san: "...Sandaime... I wonder if he's looking at that moon as well......."

Text: No, not at all.

Bun-san: "Kamojima-san, the food's here."

The 2 of them are enjoying the bath and eating/drinking there as well.
