Aqua
In 1998, Aqua acquired international fame with their bouncy pop song "Barbie Girl" from their debut album Aquarius. The trouble they got into with Mattel just made it more publicity for them. They later released the silly metaphoric song "Lollipop (Candyman)," which compares romance to candy, and the eerie and mysterious "Turn Back Time."
Their next album Aquarius was released in 2000. "Cartoon Heroes," the first single from Aquarius, didn't do as well as their previous ones, and as a result the album didn't do as well as their first one either. Nonetheless, the fans couldn't wait for it's February release and were happy to hear the band's new songs.
