Jump Up, Jump Down
            TOE      HERKIES        PIKE         UNIVERSAL

TUCK          HURDLERS              EAGLE
                   TOE JUMPS

Toe jumps are simple. Prep=Punch out a highV and goe on your tip toes, pause for amoment, then bring yuor highVdown and corss them at your waist. At the cross, bend at your knees, and jump off the ground. Your legs should be waist length and in a stradle position up in the air.. For the landing, snap your legs back together and hit a clap motion.
                   HERKIES

Herkies are easy too! If you have had cheer lessons, or been on a cheer team before, you might have learned that in the beginning, herkies are just a half-split on the floor, well it is! Right Herkeis= are with the right leg out in front of you and your left leg tucked behind you, almost glued to your butt. Left is just the opposite. Now the Prep is the same as the toe jump prep, just when you go up to jump, only stick out one leg, and secure the other back behind you. Simple as that. :-D
                      PIKE

You might think of the pike as a fish, well in this case its not. The pike jump is consdiered to be the most diffucult jump in the history of cheering. As you know the prep is the same, hit the highV, cross at the waist, bend your knees, and when you go to jump pull your legs in front of you and reach for your toes. I've had many troubles with this jump, so if you don't nail it the first tiem around, dont be bummed, just try it again. Your jumps will always get better when you do them over and over again. GOOD LUCK!
                   UNIVERSAL

The universal is a diffucult jump as well. it's basically the same as the toe jump, but when you cross your arms and bend, you want to bring your arms around again and hit a high clap above your head, and as your legs to come up, slice your clap down through the stradle. As you land bring your arms back up to a highV.
              TUCK/HOOK Jump

Tuck: The prep is the same for all jumps, and as you bend your legs and start to jump, tuck your legs under you. This takes major ab work.

Hook: The Double Hook jump is fairly easy. remember how your back leg is when you are doing a herkie. Well keep it that way, and your front leg will only come into your body. If you have been on a cheer team before, you know this jump as "the cheerleader sit in the air".
                  HURDLERS

Hurdlers are mostly done by college cheerleaders. Prep is the same, and as you jump, pull your back leg back like you did in the herikie, and your front leg goes up directly in front of you.

                     EAGLE

This jump is very smiple. The prep is different though. For the prep, start out with your arms at your side, and then make a clasp right in front of your chest, at this time you bend your knees, and shoot your arms striahgt up, jump up, and make an X with your body. TAA DAA, you did it!
