Tom Otvos Consulting is the company through which high-technology consulting services are provided. In particular, the services are focused around the effective use of Internet-based technologies to enhance or augment current business processes. A particular sweet-spot is helping companies that are not particularly technology-savvy, but "use computers".
The term "Internet-based technologies" is, of course, wide ranging, but covers things like web sites (especially where it involves integrating the external site to back-end business processes), internal intranets, and XML-based communication between processes and trading partners.
In addition, contract research services are also provided, again as it relates to the integration of technology into business, but not necessarily so. This might involve doing competitive analysis of products or services in your chosen domain, or investigating a new technology. Patent searches and layperson interpretations of patent claims are also provided. Technology audits -- the evaluation of how your business is using technology, and how it can be improved -- are popular with small-to-medium businesses (SMBs).
