Golic was with Boggs and Rains and the alien attacked them and killed both of them except Golic.  After that Golic went crazy.  Thinking that Golic killed the two, they put him in a straght jacket.  Golic was muttering "It's a dragon." when they tied him up.  He said it "feeds on minds".

Note: in the original alien 3 script, Golic had a major part.  He was insane and wanted to be friends with the alien.  The inmates had trapped the alien in the room like they had planned.  In the movie it showed them failing misserably.  But in the original scenes they edited out, Golic talked Morse into letting him go.  When Morse agreed the alien was let out by Golic.
