Hyjacked Crewmember,
Purvis was in cryosleep on his was to a work colony Nickel refinary. His ship was hyjacked by the crew of the Betty and sold to the USM as hosts for the aliens they were breeding. Purvis saw all of his friends die horrible deaths and when the crew of the Betty found him, Ripley knew he had an alien in him too. Given the fact that it took so long for his chestburster to burst, and the fact that Ripley said "it's a nasty one" suggests that Purvis had a queen alien in him. At the end of the movie Purvis was on his way to the freezer on the betty to be frozen so he wouldn't die. But Dr. Wren held Call hostage he delayed Purvis's freezing. The alien started to come out of him and in a last burst of madness Purvis ran over to Dr. Wren and beat the heck out of him then held Wren's head up to his chest and the alien went through Wren's head. Killing both of them.
