Ripley was found 57 years after the Nostromo blew up. The company did not beleive her when she told them her story about the planet and the alien. And as punishment for detonating the engines on the Nostromo, she had her license taken away which makes her a flight officer. When they lost contact with the colony on LV4-26 they asked ripley to go and be an advisor. She was aprehensive at first but then she agreed to help the poor colonists and get her license back. She was told she wouldn't have to fight, but she did have to. At the end she got into a fearsome showdown with the queen as she was in her power loader and sucked the queen into space. She lived through aliens.
