It would be hard not to have heard about this new movie, especially if you’ve been on the UC campus over the past month or so. This, the music from the motion picture “Garage Days,” is quite an interesting collection of tracks.
Firstly there are a number of interesting cover versions on offer. D4 open the album with a cover of AC/DC’s ‘High Voltage’. Motor Ace contribute with a decent version of David Bowie’s ‘Kooks.’ While Sonic Animation add their dance interpretation of the Violet Femmes’ ‘Add it up,’
David McCormac makes a number of contributions. His solo effort ‘Masterplan’ is a major highlight sounding somewhat reminiscent of his previous work with Custard. He also collaborates with Andrew Lancaster in the under a minute instrumentals ‘Rocking it’ and ‘Wake Up’ while Katie Noonan adds her beautiful voice to the duo’s music in the album’s title track. The soundtrack also features some old favorites such as Supergrass’ ‘All right,’ Spiderbait’s ‘Buy me a pony’ as well as the Jam’s classic ‘That’s Entertainment’.
This is quite a good soundtrack. Featuring an interesting mix of old favorites, interesting covers and other miscellaneous tracks it proves to be quite good value.
