Once I knew I was buying the car I had to make plans to get it here. I am always up for an adventure so taking advantage of frequent flier miles me and a friend flew to Albequerque. We rented a truck and loaded it up. This was on October 29th, 1999. It took a few hours to build ramps and get it loaded.
We were loading the car and the ramps started to creek. I decided to take one last picture before it went into the truck. The guy on the left is Jim, the person I bought the car from. The guy on the right is Gene, my good friend who volunteered to take the trip with me. We then proceeded to reinforce the ramps and get the car into the truck.
We left friday night and decided to go the southern route through Arizona and up through California back to Seattle. There were some big snows expected in the rockies and we didn't want to chance it. We stayed the first night in Flagstaff. I stopped every 2 miles at first to check the tiedown of the car. We made it to San Fransisco by the saturday evening. We both wanted to see the Golden Gate bridge. Unfortunataly we took a wrong turn and ended up downtown going up and down those hills. My heart couldn't take it, but the car stayed put. Yowser!!! Being holloween eve we stopped and asked the Statue of Liberty for directions. She was quite helpfull as she pointed her torch in the right direction. We drove through the redwood forests and stayed there saturday night. We arived home about 11:00 pm Sunday November 1st. We never hit a drop of rain or snow.
