Generation Two Player
If not for Marc Lemoi, chances are that most of us never would have gotten into paintball. We would not know the thrill of stalking and being stalked. We would never feel the immense euphoria of making an elimination or the excitement of being caught in a firefight, hearing paintballs wizzing past our head. Marc was the person that initiated four of his friends into paintball and was the catalyst that brought about the Second Paintball Generation.
Marc has two guns: the Tippmann Pro-Carbine and the Brass Eagle Stingray II. He masks are the JT X-Fire and Brass Eagle. He is known for taking his mask of during a firefight because “it impairs his vision.” Marc introduced Kris Linton, Dave Salazar, Eric Gubich and Craig Buller to paintball in September of 2000. Not long after, they all bought markers of their own and became the Second Paintball Generation.
Marc feels that playing paintball without a mask is even more exciting and gives him an adrenaline rush to the extreme. In fact, he suggests that all players should play without masks. However, since you’re not as durable as Marc, wear your mask.
On one occasion in the winter of 2000, Marc and Eric were attacking Barry, who was the only player left on his team and running low on CO2. Marc and Eric were both getting ready to charge Barry, who was polishing his glasses, which had fogged. Marc also had his mask off because they had fogged. Marc and Eric both planned to rush Barry on count of three. Barry had put his glasses back on and was preparing himself for the charge. Marc requested no head shots because he wasn’t wearing a mask.
The count of three came and found Eric remaining behind his tree, leaving the charge solely up to the unmasked Marc. Barry calmly looked out from around his tree, aimed his Pro-Carbine at Marc and shot him in between the eyes. Marc, who had been running up towards Barry flipped backwards and landed on his back. No doubt because of this event, Marc chose to upgrade from his Stingray II to a Tippmann Pro-Carbine.
