Snap Shooting As you may or may not know, snap shooting is an important skill, which can easily be worked into your game. Snap shooting is a technique best used after you’ve already fired at your opponent and no longer have the advantage of surprise. Snap shooting is simply quickly pivoting out from behind cover with your gun ready to fire. This eliminates the time it takes for you to lift the gun to your face and aim. When you snap shoot, you should get ready to fire while behind cover. Pivot out of cover, fire, then get back behind cover. It is important to quickly snap in and out of cover as quick possible and to expose as little of yourself as possible. For an example ask an experienced player like Nelson Fonseca. Development Nightmare As many of you may already know, in recent months there has been some remodeling to the back of GPT. The Tolls Brothers are currently constructing a new development labeled “Bethlehem Estates.” They have cut down a 60 foot strip of forest in the back of GPT (the biker’s side). This might be to make a temporary road for construction vehicles, a permanent road, or to lay underground pipe/wires. Informants have told us that the Dark Forest will stay up for now, though Toll Brothers own both sides of the forest. The homes will be built in the fields to the side of GPT and people are expected to move in by September 2002. Hopefully this will not affect us greatly, but that’s a long shot. We’ll try to stay on top of the matter and keep you informed. Can’t We All Just Get Along? In recent months, the tension between some bikers and some paintballers has reached cataclysmic levels and resulted in the destruction of many bunkers as well as the partial demolition of a few jumps. The catalyst for the wrecking of the structures was a breaking of a shovel by persons who will remain nameless. The bikers, thinking that the shovel was broken paintball players, sought retribution by destroying many bunkers. They also left an offensive letter written on a wooden rabbit in which many words were misspelled. Many of these bunkers had recently been improved during the past month. The paintballers returned to find the structures, which they had so arduously labored to build, destroyed. They in turn set about destroying the bikers’ jumps (somewhat unsuccessfully). Altogether the crack shack, preparation area, sniper post and Brad’s bunker were attacked. The sniper post and crack shack will be unable to be fully repaired. All of this bickering between these two clans seems to indicate that bikers and paintballers cannot peacefully coexist in The Woods Behind Nacac. Paintball Rentals For those who want to bring someone new to play paintball, but don’t have an extra kit the resolution of your conundrum is finally here! Dave Salazar is now offering paintball kit rentals for back breaking prices. The prices per day are as follows: Guns with mask Semi-automatic ------------------------- $5 Pump Action------------------------------ $3 500 paintballs-----------------------------$17 or less CO2 ----------------------------------------$5 If you prefer, you can get your own paint and/or CO2 and just rent a gun and mask. The Return of Simian Rumor has it that the legendary paintball sage Christopher John Rice will be returning to Bethlehem May 10th. Perhaps spending a year in college has diluted his killer instinct, mayhaps even forcing him to wear glasses. Or, has his time in the Pi Kappa fraternity has only transmogrified him into a veritable paintball dervish. There’s only one way to find out… Be sure to reserve your spot to play along side this famed paintballer during the game scheduled for Saturday, May 11 at 12:00. |
